Amber Alert issued for missing Grain Valley teen
Police tonight issued an Amber Alert for a Grain Valley teenager whose car, cell phone, purse and belongings were found in an Independence parking lot today.
Sixteen-year-old Makenzie R. Green was last seen at 7:30 a.m. today, dropping a friend off at school in Grain Valley.
The Grain Valley High School student is believed to be with her ex-boyfriend, with whom she recently ended a relationship, police said. The ex-boyfriend, Curtis L. Hagey, 16, recently made harmful threats toward Green, according to Sgt. Dennis Green of the Independence Police Department.
Hagey also is missing, and both of their fathers believe that the teens are together, Green said. The two had disappeared together before, and Green’s car was found four blocks from Hagey’s home.
Greeen is 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighs 120 pounds and was last seen wearing a blue Eagles sweatshirt and black Under Armour sweatpants.
