Tiger Woods Car Crash
As you all know, I had a single-car accident earlier this week, and sustained some injuries. I have some cuts, bruising and right now I'm pretty sore.
This situation is my fault, and it's obviously embarrassing to my family and me. I'm human and I'm not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn't happen again.
This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way. Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible.
The only person responsible for the accident is me. My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false.
This incident has been stressful and very difficult for Elin, our family and me. I appreciate all the concern and well wishes that we have received. But, I would also ask for some understanding that my family and I deserve some privacy no matter how intrusive some people can be.

I've been wondering what the story is on this. I was watching a news report adding up all the $$$ on his contracts for product endorsements, stating he could lose those. I thought that was a little premature at this point. And he's cancelled his 3rd scheduled meeting with LE. I'm sure he's thankful he hit a tree and no other people were hurt.

Tiger Woods Hires Mark Nejame
Tiger Woods on accident: 'Situation is my fault' ; lawyer Mark NeJame tells police that today's interview is canceled
By Sara K. Clarke and Susan Jacobson, Orlando Sentinel
2:42 PM EST, November 29, 2009
For the third day in row, professional golfer Tiger Woods will not be talking to investigators about the early-morning crash that sent him to the hospital.
A spokeswoman for Florida Highway Patrol said the agency was contacted at about 1 p.m. from prominent local attorney Mark NeJame, who said he is now representing Woods. NeJame told FHP that its interview with Woods scheduled for today was canceled.
It's the third day in a row that Woods has declined to talk to investigators. On Friday, Woods' wife, Elin Nordegren Woods, told troopers seeking to interview Woods that he was sleeping. They agreed to return the next day, but that appointment postponed shortly beforehand by Woods' agent, Mark Steinberg of IMG. Troopers were asked to return Sunday, said FHP spokeswoman Sgt. Kim Montes.
Woods is not obligated to speak to investigators; only to provide his drivers license, registration and proof of insurance, Montes said.
FHP also released the 911 call dispatchers received from a neighbor after Woods drove his Cadillac Escalade into a tree.

Tiger Woods Update: Hires Criminal Lawyer Mark NeJame
Orlando, FL - Tiger Woods has hired prominent Criminal Defense Lawyer Mark NeJame, one of the most famous and noted defense lawyers in Florida. NeJame's former clients include Lou Pearlman, Jesse Maali, and Casey Anthony's parents.
Just because Woods has hired a well-known and able defense lawyer does not mean that he is guilty or even that he has anything to hide. In fact, a smart innocent person with the means to do so would hire a criminal lawyer when investigated or suspected of any crime for which he or she is innocent.
Now Woods' silence and refusal to meet with police to give a statement makes perfect sense. There's no way on earth that a good criminal defense lawyer like NeJame would let any client, innocent or otherwise, talk with police or the media about an ongoing investigation.
Now, if there is to be a statement, expect it to come either with NeJame present, or through the attorney or his office.
Woods will eventually clear things up, but for now he is taking the proper precautions to make sure that a mountain is not made of a molehill. For now, NeJame probably told Woods, get used to the rumors and endless chatter and focus on a time in the future when things will return to normal.

this is rediculous... another story of the rich and famous being above the law.. i personally have grown tired of this kinda crap!
you know damn well, if this were one of the "common folks" like us, they would have had a blood sample from the hospital to prove a DWI, and we would be sitting in a jail cell... there would be no cancelled appointments to talk to LE.
this infuriates me... kinda like the little princess nicole richie spending what a whole 38 minutes in jail for her conviction..
i honestly do not follow golf in the least, and tiger woods is just a name to me... but i hope they nail his ass to the wall for SOMETHING, because i am sick of the rich and famous being allowed to run rampant simply because they are rich and famous!

I think his wife whipped his a** with a golf club, then staged the accident.

Has this gone beyond crazy or what? Two of his windows were busted out. She was probably still swinging when he high tailed it out of there! A drunken fight or major a** whoopin...who knows! I don't understand why he won't or doesn't have to talk to LE and just get it overwith! How can you cancel 3 meetings with the State Police? It's way beyond any damage control for him at this point.

I guess I am gonna have to wait to find out what happened here before I can say much. I'm not honestly as sure there is as much to this story as the media is making of it..... but then again.......
I'm still open on this one.
I'm still open on this one.

The Clueless Wonder Strikes Again
November 30th, 2009
Richard Hornsby
So it was brought to my attention that E! Online turned to High Profile Attorney Jose Baez for his opinion on the Tiger Woods case. (E!: So What Kind of Charges Could Tiger Woods Face?)
Now I would like to point out that E! attributed the source of the comments in their story to High Profile Florida Criminal Attorney Jose Baez. They did not show a picture, a link, or give an address – so I could be wrong about who the source for their article was, and because of this I will just refer to this Jose Baez as the Clueless Wonder for simplicity’s sake :-)
In any event, I wish I could say I was shocked by the Clueless Wonder’s not-so-expert opinion, but let us just say I was not.
So before the world goes completely mad, I would like to discuss what the Clueless Wonder had to say. Let’s start with the first excerpt from their story: So What Kind of Charges Could Tiger Woods Face?.
High-profile Florida criminal attorney Jose Baez tells E! News that Woods’ seeming refusal to speak with FHP troopers could result in several misdemeanor charges, including obstruction of justice, resisting arrest without violence, criminal mischief and possibly even driving under the influence.
Now I don’t have a lot of time on my hands, but I am really beginning to think the Clueless Wonder does not even practice law in Florida, much less criminal law. Because a first year law student would know that the first three charges the Clueless Wonder cites would never apply to Tiger Wood’s situation.
But rather than just tell you, and expect you to believe me, I am going to break down each of the Clueless Wonder’s ridiculous responses.

Orlando, Florida (CNN) -- Golfer Tiger Woods will be issued a careless driving citation for the crash outside his home last week, but he will not face criminal charges, the Florida Highway Patrol said Tuesday.
Upon conviction of careless driving, a moving violation, Woods faces a $164 fine and four points on his license, Maj. Cindy Williams of the Florida Highway Patrol said.
"Mr. Woods' status in no way impacted our investigation or conclusion," Williams said. "The investigation has determined that Mr. Woods is at fault in the crash."
Woods satisfied the requirements of Florida law regarding motor vehicle accidents by providing his driver's license, registration and proof of insurance to authorities, Williams said.
There was insufficient evidence to request a subpoena for medical information in the case, said Sgt. Kim Montes, an FHP spokeswoman. There were no claims of domestic abuse.
And they state it was not alcohol related.

Well, he's being cited and given a fine. LE says no signs of alcohol or spousal abuse, no further investigation needed. I guess that's the end of that story! It sure got juicy, didn't it?

lol Babbette. He's technically at fault, but his wife whipping his a** might have something to do with the accident.

I, personally, don't think it is anyone's business what happened within that home before or after or ever. Obviously, Tiger is at fault in the accident... he took responsibility for it in his statement.
WHERE he was going at 2:30 in the morning, and exactly what happened to cause the accident is really not anyone's business... other than the police. They have now issued him a citation for his part in the accident... it should be over. If this had been you or me, it would not have been plastered all over Nancy Grace.
The fact that he is the most accomplished athlete does not give the rest of us a right to know his PRIVATE life. He has lived his life, keeping his private life private... and I, for one, respect him tremendously.
I am angry after having suffered through NG tonight. Her very first caller asked what business it was of anyone about his private life...... NG agreed that what happened was only the business of the police... and then proceeded to discuss the "alleged" affair, where he was going, etc.
Why can't everyone just leave him alone and let him deal with his private life PRIVATELY?

Tiger Woods Apologizes, Regrets "Transgressions"

Updated: 11:39 am EST December 2, 2009
WINDERMERE, Fla. -- In a statement released Wednesday morning on his own web site, Tiger Woods says he has let his family down and regrets those "transgressions."
Later Wednesday, the Florida Highway Patrol is expected to release the full report on the one-car crash that seems to have set all the controversy in motion. Besides the report, the FHP will release dozens of photos of the crash scene. WFTV.com will post both the report and photos as soon as they are available.
TIGER APOLOGIZES: Read Tiger Woods' Statement
VOICEMAIL: lleged Woods Call To Mistress
"I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves," Tiger wrote in the statement posted on his web site Wednesday morning.
His comments came after Us Weekly magazine published a cover story alleging that a Los Angeles cocktail waitress had a 31-month affair with the world's No. 1 golfer (read that report).
Jaimee Grubbs told the magazine she met Woods at a Las Vegas nightclub the week after the 2007 Masters -- two months before Woods' wife, Elin Nordegren, gave birth to their first child. Grubbs claims to have proof in 300 text messages.
Wednesday morning, the magazine published what it said was a voicemail provided by Grubbs that she said was left by Woods on Nov. 24, three days before his early morning car crash outside his home near Orlando.
In the voicemail released by the magazine (hear it), a man says to Grubbs: "Hey, it's, uh, it's Tiger. I need you to do me a huge favor. Um, can you please, uh, take your name off your phone. My wife went through my phone. And, uh, may be calling you. If you can, please take your name off that and, um, and what do you call it just have it as a number on the voicemail, just have it as your telephone number. That's it, OK. You gotta do this for me. Huge. Quickly. All right. Bye."
It has not been confirmed that Woods was the caller and, in his statement, Woods did not offer details of any alleged relationship.
"I will strive to be a better person and the husband and father that my family deserves. For all of those who have supported me over the years, I offer my profound apology," Tiger wrote.
And he continued to say accounts that physical violence played a role in his Friday morning car crash were "utterly false and malicious."
"Elin has always done more to support our family and shown more grace than anyone could possibly expect," he wrote.
A day earlier, the Florida Highway Patrol concluded its investigation into Tiger Wood's one-car crash. The FHP issued a careless driving ticket to Tiger, which he promptly paid, and closed their case.
"Mr. Woods has satisfied the requirements of Florida law by providing his driver license, registration and proof of insurance to us. With the issuance of the citation, the Florida Highway Patrol has completed its investigation into this matter," the FHP wrote in a statement issued Tuesday afternoon (read statement).
Investigators are expected to release a final crash report Wednesday afternoon, along with additional photos from the neighbor’s yard where Woods wrecked his SUV.
