Well, for one thing, it's tons of fun! It can be therapeutic too. It can be beautiful. It can be ugly. It can cause the author and the reader to laugh or cry. Or even be disgusted. Or all of the above! It allows us to throw off our "known selves" and wade right into another personality! Or even another world! We can be who ever we want....... wherever we want..... for as long as we want and we can do what we want! Don't like what you wrote? Well, pencils come with erasers! No biggie!

It can take us to magical places...... or give us a safe place to share our not so magical places.

Or, sometimes, it it can just fall flat. You never know!

By allowing one's self to open up, to put words to, to share, to imagine, to re-live (or simply to re-write) your history (or should I say 'herstory'?) we can empower ourselves....... or it can just plain be amusing.

We can be deep and meaningful- or superficial and silly.

Exercising our brains, our memories, our imaginations and our vocabulary can be exhilarating! Sometimes embarrassing!. It can be a huge success! Or a dismal failure. Who cares? It's only writing!!!

Whether you are an amateur writer or a would-be author sending off the first draft of your novella to your publisher as we speak- You are welcome to come here anytime! You can stick your big toe in and see how it feels...... or you can take the plunge! Just dive right in!
