The mother of missing Gabriel Johnson was assigned a new attorney and it turns out it's a familiar face.

PHOENIX (CBS5) -
The mother of missing baby Gabriel was back in court Friday morning.

Elizabeth Johnson still didn't offer up any details about where her son might be.

The judge in the case ruled Friday that as long as she gets her medication, she is competent and will stand trial in September.

In another court maneuver and attempt to keep Elizabeth Johnson in check, a clinical liaison has been appointed to make sure the mother of missing “Baby Gabriel” stays on her medication so she remains competent to stand trial.

Yet, the beginning of that trial, which was supposed to start early last month, remains at least seven months away.

It's been more than two years and it's still unknown what happened to an 8-month-old Valley boy.

Gabriel Johnson disappeared in Texas with his mother, Elizabeth Johnson.

When she was captured, her son was nowhere to be found.

Johnson said she conspired to give her boy up for adoption with the help of another Valley woman, Tammi Smith.

Now, both women are just days away from facing trial for his disappearance.

PHOENIX - The father of an Arizona baby who disappeared after his mother fled to Texas is turning himself in on a stolen goods charge and will be available to testify against another woman accused of interfering with his custody rights.

Logan McQueary has agreed to face a stolen goods trafficking charge and be available to testify next week, Maricopa County Attorney's Office spokesman Jerry Cobb told the Arizona Republic Thursday.

Significant moves ahead in missing baby Gabriel case

It could be a very interesting week in the so-called "Baby Gabriel" case.

All of the key players in the national investigation are involved in significant events happening in the Valley this week.

Gabriel Johnson was last seen the day after Christmas in 2009.

His mom, Elizabeth Johnson , took the boy from Tempe to San Antonio where the boy vanished.
