.............Tommy's appeal for reduction was denied..His attorney asked the prosecutor to show him one case like Tommy's...With a 15 year sentence..He said it was all about the Cummings case..The judge in part agreed, about the national attention..He said he thought long and hard before handing down his sentence..so the sentence stands....

Hank Croslin Jr., 24, was arrested on two counts of trafficking.

His sister, Misty, faces seven counts in Putnam County and another St. Johns County, and is slated to be sentenced later this month.

Ronald Cummings, Haleigh's father, in August was sentenced to 15 years after authorities dropped three of the five charges against him.

His cousin, 19-year-old Hope Sykes, received a 15-year prison term in April.

During Monday's hearing, (Judge) LaRue reiterated his surprise that Hank Croslin Jr. and the others would engage in the sales since they were in the public eye.

"I had trouble believing that they could do that, and I still do," LaRue said.

The judge said he felt the 15-year sentence was fair.

"It was drug dealing," he said. "No doubt about it."

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Misty Croslin's mother testified on her behalf today during Croslin's sentencing on drug charges.

Croslin is being sentenced for trafficking oxycodone, a prescription pain medication.

Croslin was the last person known to see 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings last year before her disappearance sparked a nationwide Amber alert. Haleigh remains missing.

Lisa Croslin testified today that she was a "terrible mother." She used drugs, she said, when she was raising her daughter, and that Croslin failed seventh grade, then never returned to school.

Her mother and other family members are sitting behind her in the St. Johns County courtroom, and relatives of Haleigh Cummings are also in the courtroom.

As Misty Croslin became hysterical, her mother also said that she blackmailed her daughter for Xanax during the Haleigh investigation. She testified that she was unsure of her daughter's age, what a PTS is, and whether Misty Crosline can add.

Today Circuit Court Judge Wendy Berger is presiding; the first witness was FBI investigator Travis Smith.

"It is wrong to drug deal but when you grow up poor, that is what you do," she said on the stand during defense questioning.

She agreed that for the first time in her life, she is in control.

She also was questioned by Judge Wendy Berger who asked her why she should be treated different than her codefendants.

Croslin was arrested earlier this year, along with her ex-husband and Haleigh's father Ronald Cummings. Croslin's brother Hank was also arrested for drug trafficking.

"I wouldn't be here if they didn't come at me... I'm not a drug dealer," Croslin responded.

Berger disagreed. She pointed at haleigh's family in the courtroom. "They're here because of Haleigh, you're here because of drugs."
Croslin also asked to be sentenced as a youthful offender. "I'm so young, I have a lot of life ahead of me...."

"But you like the money?" said Berger. "Yes," Croslin responded.

And she still has 6-7 counts to face in Putnam County.

I have a feeling that her Putnam County sentence will run concurrently with this 25 years...She will be able to get out early with good behavior when she comes up for parole...Perhaps she will learn a vocation while incarserater and become a productive citizen so she won't resort to dealing when she gets out....SO sad, but maybe a good will come out of this after all...I just wish we knew definitively what became of Haleigh....

Misty is the last of the Putnam-5 to be sentenced. And still no Haleigh. I personally think she was Youth Offender material. kh

And what about these fines?! 1/4 of a million dollars? 1/2 a million dollars?! They were poor as dirt BEFORE all this. There is no expectation that any of them will ever be able to pay their fines. Personally, I think it's just a way for the State to have something to hang over them in 15-25 years when they are finally out of prison. And, honestly, I don't even think we will know what happened to Haleigh even then.

Ron Cummings, father of ???? children, was arrested many times prior to this drug bust. He served no time for his prior crimes, and was given an extremely lenient sentence of 15 years. His babysitter/girlfriend/wife/ex-wife Misty, who made headlines because she was living with Ron when Haleigh "disappeared" has been hit with a harsh sentence of 25 years plus a huge fine. Misty, now eighteen, never had a chance. Misty was unfortunately, as the song goes, "Born to Lose".
I don't believe that Misty is responsible for the disappearance of Haleigh. Teresa Neves, who works for law enforcement, says "Misty got what she deserved". How very unfortunate that her can-do-no-wrong RonRon didn't get what he deserved.

Justice in Florida is strange and unjust. Casey Anthony is still in a protective cell, compliments of Florida taxpayers. Casey has a commissary fund from "donors" who write her love letters. Casey reads books, writes to her jailed penpal quoting the bible, of all things. Casey enjoys her "fame". Casey coldly callously murdered her innocent little daughter Caylee. The trial for Casey has been delayed time after time. Casey, the media momster, has numerous media-loving attorneys to aid in her defense. Momster baby killer Casey, seen smiling in the courtroom, has yet to face a jury to be prosecuted and sentenced for the homicidal murder of Cayley Marie Angelbabe.
Compare the Casey case with Misty. Misty has already gone before a judge and been sentenced to twenty-five years in prison for selling pills. Justice?? I think not!! !

Twenty-five years seems excessive for a first time offense, and there are still seven more counts she is facing. I really thought she would end up with fifteen years total. It seems like they are certain she knows the truth about Haleigh and are trying to squeeze it out of her before her next sentencing. She's between a rock and a hard place because her sister-in-law Chelsea Croslin said Misty has told them everything and even offered to take another polygraph on her latest story, but they are refusing to listen to her.

If Misty had done anything to Haleigh, she would have been "missing" along with Haleigh, because Ron would have extracted his payback. I think he concocted a story and had Misty retell it, and Misty was incapable of memorizing it, so the story appeared to be made-up. I think if Ron had done anything to harm Haleigh, he would have threatened Misty with unbearable torture and painful death for her and her family if she told LE. I believe that Misty was terrified of Ron and his anger and thirst for revenge. Ron would "know" people who would carry out his commands if he was in a jail cell. That is why Misty would not "tell the truth". If she knows something that points to Ron, she is more fearful of what she would endure from his evil threats than what she would endure in prison. Misty will never be free.

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- Misty Croslin won’t be sentenced on charges in Putnam County until 2011, but the last person to see Haleigh Cummings won’t be going far in the mean time.

Croslin was sentenced to 25 years in prison on Oct. 8 on one count of drug trafficking in St. Johns County.

She faces nine charges in Putnam county.

A sentencing hearing was supposed to be held on Oct. 19 on one of the drug trafficking charges, but the sentencing has been moved to Jan. 10, officials said on Friday.

ST. AUGUSTINE - Misty Croslin was sentenced to 25 years in prison Friday afternoon for trafficking oxycodone.

Croslin was the babysitter and - briefly - the stepmother of Haleigh Cummings, the 5-year-old South Putnam girl who disappeared from her home Feb. 10, 2009.

"You made the choice," Circuit Judge Wendy Berger told Croslin. "Now you've got to live with the choice you've made."

A full courtroom, which included family members of key players in the Haleigh Cummings case, heard testimony from Croslin, her mother Lisa Croslin, and state Department Law Enforcement Agent Travis Smith during the two-hour hearing held in the St. Johns County Courthouse.

Dressed in T-shirts with Haleigh's picture, family members of Haleigh's father, Ronald Cummings, sat near Haleigh's mother, Crystal Sheffield and her family.

Across the aisle, members of Misty Croslin's family were seated in a row.
