FBI Latent Print Related Items Missing From Discovery?

OK.... Jeff Ashton said there are FBI latent print related items missing from discovery, but that everything that is going to be provided has been provided...... and that is between the FBI and the defense.

What do you think? Do you think the FBI has KC's fingerprints AFTER ALL? If not KC's prints, what do you think the evidence might be? And why wouldn't the FBI turn it over to the State?

I, personally, have ALWAYS believed they had her prints.... and I'm wondering if the reason the FBI might not have released it to the State yet is because possibly the FBI have been asked NOT to? Maybe it would be considered too prejudicial to the defendant and they don't want it released to the public? Either way, I am guessing the State has verbally received the information. As long as the reports are withheld, the State cannot turn it over, since they can't turn over discovery they do not have. Just my thoughts.

Sheesh, I just can't wait until this trial!!!!

I sure hope it's her fingerprints, a nice big, fat, open palm handprint with all five fingers. Not a partial fingerprint, smudged, and inconclusive.

I hope that they have her prints, and that it hangs her. As for nails in her coffin - true...but this cold-hearted Casey doesn't deserve a coffin...she deserves to be tossed in some garbage bags and thrown in the swamp...too bad it couldn't be a live Casey...but, that would be excessive CRUELTY.

I wonder what the remaining 10 percent (besides possible prints) could be......?

i have prayed many a nights that there was prints on something substantial... it would HAVE to be the duct tape.. preferably on the sticky side, because there would be no excuse for that...

then we could stop hearing how kronk did it...

BUT.. if bozo knew there was a latent print on the duct tape, you would think he would NOT be persuing all this BS DOD defense.. he would be looking for a plea, or trying to prepare a case for accidental death... so.. i am NOT sure what to make of this print talk.

The thing is, Randi, he does not know for sure if there are prints anywhere... he is probably praying as hard as KC is that there are not....

Items that could have Latents

In Monday’s hearing there was a dialogue between Baez and Ashton about discovery the defense has not yet received. During that exchange Ashton mentioned some latent evidence that needs to be turned over to the defense. While this does not prove there exists latents, it is an interesting statement. To date we have not seen discovery that shows latents found on any important evidence (i.e. at the scene where Caylee’s remains were discovered). So I thought I’d review the forensic evidence notes I have taken from discovery to date to see what items could potentially have had latents but of which we currently are unaware. In other words, these are the pieces of evidence for which “no latents” has not been stated. The list below includes many items at the crime scene that may not be associated with Caylee at all.

* Q66 – tape on gas can (this should not be minimized – if this has any of the Anthonys’ prints on it, then it will be hard to argue against the connection between this piece and those on Caylee’s remains. If it has Casey’s, well, some one please holler BINGO!)
* Q84 – Whitney laundry bag crime scene
* Q85 – plastic bag crime scene
* Q86 – plastic bag crime scene
* Q98 – hair clip crime scene
* Q100.1 – heart sticker (on cardboard) crime scene
* Q104 – Henkel duct tape crime scene
* Q105 – bag crime scene
* Q186 – plastic bag crime scene
* Q236 – plastic bag crime scene
* Q238 – Gatorade bottle (along with syringe and syringe packaging) crime scene
* Q316, Q317, Q318 – non-Henkel duct tape pieces crime scene
* various pieces of plastic, plastic bags, bottles, cans, wrappers, balloon, Disney bag, vinyl-coated lettering from Caylee’s shirt, etc. from crime scene

These are things I have located that could catch a latent but have not been denoted to contain “no latents” in the discovery released to date.

Raise your hand if you think the prosecution has been holding on to those latent prints as part of the “ongoing investigation,” which, if I understand correctly, means that they don’t have to release them until they are ready to (under the Sunshine rules). Also raise your hand if you think their mentioning the prints yesterday was a calculated move on their part, designed to remind the defense that yes, they, the prosecution, have exactly the type of evidence they need to convict Ms. PP.

P.S. BTW, Ms. PP is Ms. Poopy Pants, which is a term of "endearment" used at HM for KC.... LOL

i am praying they found latent prints of KCs on the INSIDE of the garbage bags that contained little caylee's remains.. that my friends is what i call a smoking gun..

The Defense’s claim of missing Discovery

I thought it was worth looking closer at the exchange that took place this past Monday in court between Baez and Ashton concerning the defense team’s claim that they have not received all Discovery. We are at a slight disadvantage on analyzing this claim since, as far as this writer is aware of, we have never seen the full text of Linda Kenney-Baden’s March 27, 2009 request for Discovery submitted to the FBI Quantico Laboratory. The only portions of this request we know of are the partial snippets contained within the response from the FBI, as included in the September 29, 2009 Discovery release (pages 5 through 10 of the pdf). If a reader knows of the public existence of the full request letter by Baden, a link will be greatly appreciated.

So, working off only partial knowledge of the request from Baden, let’s attempt to discern what was not provided to the defense team by the FBI.

I found this a few months back & it is interesting, would be a "Bombshell" if accurate & true.

this would be fabulous IF...

KC wore fingerprint ink on her fingers when she placed the tape.

the problem is... the fingerprints were left on the sticky part of the tape. any change in the sticky substance, would subsequently show a change in the print structure. this may make any prints left without fingerprint ink impossible to lift--do to the sticky nature of the adhesive side of the duct tape.
