Piper, this was addressed in a previous doc dump.... apparently the adhesive is not from duct tape.... and since CA washed the knife, maybe the fiber is from the rag she used to either wash it or dry it.

The one thing I question is that I believe in CA's depo, she stated that the knife was from a set she kept in the back of one of her drawers and that they rarely used them... My question is if there is more than one knife in the set, then how can LE be sure CA gave them the right one.... visions of dog's toothbrush, anyone?

There has to be a timeline somewhere re the time the car was recovered/returned home and Cindy called Amy...What did George do after he took car home ...where was he during p/u Amy and Casey's recovery??? I'm still out in left field waiting for the ball in this crazy game....Who's on first??? The Ants had to know something werry werry bad had happened...I too think they cleaned up whether they will admit it or not....Why wash Crazys clothes??? and of course Cindy wouldn't tell the true condition of those clothes anyway...Mud?? stains??? of course they stunk like "death"...that was her excuse for washing them...They smelled foul...and why pull the car into the garage if it smelled so bad (even if they did leave the car windows open)...why not leave it outside to air out???? I know I should have put these querries in 3 Questions to Ask, but I felt they fit here...Just my 2 cents worth...I can't wait for this trial...

On the baby doll link, it shows 2 different types of baby dolls, with 2 different dates. I've seen people questioning on other blogs if Caylee had 2 Mama dolls. I found this picture which was released on 2/18/09, which shows Caylee appeared to have at least 4 other bald-headed baby dolls.

okay.. i understand on a childs seat it could be anything, BUT it really really resembles dried, cleaned up blood.

i took a forensic science class long ago, and that was part of our curriculum.. to identify blood stains, enhance with luminol, and type and cross. they always threw us a loop with bleached out samples.. but i am sure we would have heard long ago, if there was blood found in the car seat..

the defensive crowd must have contracted a virus or something, they seem to be dropping like FLIES..

Quoting myself..... Very Happy

Another thought. Now that I re-read the info regarding the knife from the previous dump, it doesn't they the materials don't match the duct tape... it says they are "inconsistent" with.... and that while the materials are too limited to fully characterize, they remain suitable for limited comparison examinations....

And since CA washed the knife..... we don't know HOW she washed it.... possibly the dishwasher rather than by hand. Maybe the dishwasher detergent would alter the residue on the knife.... and we still have the same issue as we do about the duct tape from the crime scene being "consistent" or "inconsistent" with the duct tape found elsewhere... the degradation of the crime scene duct tape is tremendous....

So, IOW, I guess there is always a possibility the residue and/or fiber on the knife could turn out to be from the duct tape.

i have a Q...

when was the sunfire purchased? was it purchased as a new, or a used vehicle? i know it was origionally LA's car, but was it new when it was purchased?

the reason i am asking, there are A LOT of suspicious stains in the back of that car, and if ANY of them test positive for bodily fluids, i want to KNOW that they cannot claim that the previous owner put a dead body in the damn car.... if the only owners of the car were members of the anthony clan, that really narrows down WHO put the body in there.

Randi, I was thinking about that, also.....LA even said in his depo that the car had been used by a lot of different people...... I'm sure they will try to say it happened before the car was bought for LA's use..... and yes, it was a used car then, I believe.

Some Interesting Observations on today’s Discovery

Posted on February 16th, 2010 by Valhall

I thought I would create this post to note a few interesting observations about today’s release, and to also give a place for others to log their comments, observations, etc.

The first photos here:

There are no identifying marks on the first two photos so we do not know which piece of duct tape we are looking at. Could this be part of the Q104 that we haven’t got to study as well as the other pieces? The rust-colored marks at the top of the tape are a feature we haven’t really noticed before. The larger one appears to be a cut or scrape from a metal object, but this could be an illusion. If it is, in fact, a cut from something sharp, this would have required this piece of tape to be against something hard enough to resist enough force to allow the tape to be damaged in a longitudinal direction. That’s a curious thing to consider. Either that or the duct tape encountered something VERY sharp (much sharper than a kitchen butter knife). Also, the oddly shaped rust-colored indentation just to the left of the linear cut appears to be the indentation of a staple, or something else with similar shape. It could be that this tape was resting against the butt-end of a bent metal stiffener of some sort. Note how the ends are circular and then come to an unclosed position on the upper side. You can find this shape on cheap sheet metal shelving supports, etc.

More Info Released In Anthony Case
Casey Anthony Charged With Murder In Daughter's Death

POSTED: Tuesday, February 16, 2010
UPDATED: 6:58 pm EST February 16, 2010

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Images of a syringe, a Gatorade bottle, a car seat, the contents of a car's trunk and a kit used for testing chemicals are among the photos released by prosecutors in the murder case of Casey Anthony, who is charged with killing her daughter, Caylee.

Prosecutors trying the first-degree murder case of Casey Anthony released the photos, which could be used as evidence, on Tuesday.

The FBI tested dozens of items, but found very little scientific evidence linking Casey Anthony to Caylee's death, Local 6 reporter Mike DeForest said.

An FBI agent thought a stain in the back of Casey Anthony's car resembled the outline of a child's body, but lab tests were unable to determine what the stain was or what caused it. Another stain on Caylee's favorite doll was also determined to be insignificant.

The day Casey Anthony's mother, Cindy Anthony, discovered the foul smell in her daughter's car, she also found a knife inside, which she later admitted to washing. The FBI found residue on the knife, but could not match it to the duct tape later found around Caylee's skull.

Other than similar looking garbage bags, duct tape and a laundry bag, the FBI was unable to create many links between the crime scene and the Anthony family's home or Casey Anthony's car.

The FBI has not found a single hair, fingerprint or DNA sample that scientifically proves Casey Anthony was in the woods where Caylee's body was found.

Casey Anthony, 23, has pleaded not guilty and claims a baby sitter kidnapped Caylee, who was 2 years old when she was reported missing in 2008.

Forensic testing revealed traces of chloroform in Casey Anthony's car. The chemical compound is used to induce unconsciousness and is also a component of human decomposition.

Televised video featuring an interview with Casey Anthony's brother, Lee Anthony, was also released. A missing persons flier seen in the video shows a piece of duct tape holding the flier to a pole.

Caylee was last seen alive in early June 2008, but she wasn't reported missing to authorities until a month later.

Meanwhile, the media liaison for the Casey Anthony defense team has resigned.

According to a news release, Marti Mackenzie will no longer be working with the defense team, and all media inquiries about the Casey Anthony case will now be directed to Liz Brown, at DePaul University College of Law Legal Clinic.
