Baez doesn't want KC to go for a plea....he's gonna' string this trial out as long as he can. He probably had some oral written agreement with KC that he would be her "lead attorney" for the entire length of the trial.

Trial date, timetable for evidence, depositions set in Casey Anthony case
By Susan Jacobson, Orlando Sentinel
11:53 p.m. EDT, May 7, 2010
The Casey Anthony case, which began almost two years ago with the disappearance of Anthony's 2-year-old daughter, has a trial date.
Orange-Osceola Chief Circuit Judge Belvin Perry set May 9, 2011 as the trial date in the first-degree murder case.
Depositions of the state's expert witnesses and law officers must be completed by Sept. 30. Defense expert witnesses must review evidence by Oct. 31.
Perry's order also establishes a timetable for witness lists to be submitted and defense motions to be heard. Depositions must be finished by Oct. 31.
Anthony, 24, is charged with killing her daughter, Caylee. The child's remains were found in woods near the family's east Orange home, where they lived with Casey Anthony's parents.

Casey Anthony Murder Trial One Year Away
Sunday, May 09, 2010 8:35:01 PM
ORLANDO -- A single satellite truck sits outside the Orange County Courthouse.
But it will be a different scene May 9, a year from now, when Casey Anthony stands trial for first-degree murder in the death of 2-year-old Caylee.
"We're going to see a type of trial that Orange County has definitely never seen, and Florida has never seen. It’s going to be something to see along the lines of OJ Simpson, Michael Jackson," said Richard Hornsby, legal analyst.
This week, newly appointed Judge Belvin Perry will hear outstanding motions including death penalty objections.
Hornsby said those are mostly formalities filed in case laws ever change.
Motions that could have a bigger impact include whether photos of Casey before Caylee's death or Roy Cronk’s past can be used as evidence.
"It's going to be a critical issue in the case because that seems to be the defense’s entire argument that another person may have placed the body there while Casey Anthony was in jail," Hornsby said.
Then there's the motion for a change of venue.
Judge Perry has already hinted he thinks the cheapest and easiest way to have a trial is to keep it in Orange County and bring in a jury from another part of the state if needed.
If that happens, by law, they'd have to be sequestered.
"Once you start telling people that you are going to have to live in a hotel for three months, people who might want to be on your trial and be more defense-friendly will say ‘I can't put my life on hold.’"
Once a jury is seated, they'll hear from as many as 250 witnesses and lawyers, who by that point will have been building their case for nearly three years.

How long can trial witnesses remember?
By Jaqueline Fell, Reporter

ORLANDO -- By the time jurors hear the Case Against Casey, nearly three years will have passed.
In 2008, Caylee Anthony was reported missing by her mother, Casey.
The trial against the Orange County mother accused of killing her is scheduled for May 2011.
A legal analyst says that lapse could spell trouble.
It's not uncommon for it to take a number of years for a case to reach trial, especially when the death penalty is involved.
However, it does pose problems when it comes to witness testimony.
How much do you remember of July 16, 2005? It was a Saturday, five years ago.
"Umm. I can't remember, um, exactly what he said at that time," Cindy Anthony said during a recent hearing.
"I can't say for sure whether I did or not," she said during another exchange.
"Something to that extent. I don't remember exactly what was said," said Casey Anthony's brother, Lee.
These were common utterances Thursday in court while Cindy and Lee Anthony recalled the day they learned Caylee was missing.
Many times attorneys had to show them transcripts of past interviews to refresh their memory.
"They've put their stories on record so many times that when they're being asked do you remember making this statement at this time, it's going to be hard for them to parse it out and say 'God was that the time I talked this time or was this the time I talked before?'"said Will Jay, legal analyst.
Jay said this is a problem most of the witnesses who aren't experts or law enforcement will have when taking the stand when the case does reach trial.
When it comes to their testimony about what Casey told them, it's the detail that's key.
"What Casey was saying and her different versions. You know was it Disney that day? Was it Cocoa Beach that day? Those are the sorts of things that are going to be the important details," Jay said.
What happens when it takes years before a jury hears the case? Witnesses make a common mistake. They start to question or even change their own story.
"It's normal that humans reconstruct the gaps in their memory too and that's where you can lead yourself into inconsistencies and other problems with your testimony," he said.
Jay says there's one thing that won't change with this case, no matter how long it goes on, the physical evidence, whether it's important or not, will stay the same.
And there's a lot of evidence.
We've already seen more than 20,000 pieces through the discovery process.
