Updated: 6:01 pm EDT March 30,2010

ORLANDO, Fla. -- A new hearing has been scheduled in the case against Casey Anthony. The hearing is set for Monday, April 5.

Casey Anthony’s defense team is renewing its push to obtain records from the search organization that helped look for Caylee Anthony
(read motion).

DOCUMENT: Motion To Obtain Records

Casey’s lawyers maintain Texas EquuSearch volunteers searched the exact location where Caylee’s remains
were found, but came up empty. But EquuSearch says they searched near the area and said Caylee's remains were found was under water.

Hearing Slated In Casey Anthony Case
Defense Seeks Texas EquuSearch Records

POSTED: 4:35 pm EDT March 30, 2010
UPDATED: 5:07 pm EDT March 30, 2010

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Casey Anthony is expected to return to the courtroom as her defense team seeks records they hope could prove her innocence.

Judge Stan Strickland scheduled a hearing for Monday morning.

Anthony's defense attorneys want the volunteer group Texas EquuSearch to turn over all records relating to searches done in or near the area where Caylee Anthony's remains were found.

Officials with Texas EquuSearch said the request would invade the privacy of the many volunteers who assisted in the search.

The hearing is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.

Casey Anthony back in court next week
The hearing will focus on access to records from volunteer search group.

By Sarah Lundy, Orlando Sentinel
5:30 p.m. EDT, March 30, 2010

Casey Anthony will be in court Monday for a hearing on access to more documents from the volunteer search group that helped look for her daughter.

Anthony, 23, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee Marie. The 2-year-old was reported missing in July 2008. Her remains were found in woods near her home five months later in December.

Members of Texas EquuSearch scoured several hundred acres throughout Orange County on two occasions to search for the girl. The group claims 32 volunteers searched the area close to where her remains were found but not the exact area, according to court documents.

Her defense team wrote in its request to the judge that the team found volunteers who weren't on the list of 32 and did search the spot Caylee's bones were found but noticed nothing unusual. The defense now wants access to all of EquuSearch's records.

The hearing will be before Orange Circuit Court Judge Stan Strickland.

Crying or Very sad

I don't get the drama over this! So what if Caylee wasn't in the woods until after Casey went to the pokey? There was the death in her car before that!

So what's Baez trying to imply by suggesting Caylee was put in the woods while Casey was in jail? Certainly not that the nanny killed Caylee after Casey went to jail, thus trying to say Casey didn't kill Caylee!

I don't get it!

Lottie, JB thinks if they can prove no one saw the "body" in the woods, that would mean someone OTHER than KC killed Caylee and put her there to be found in December.

However, there are the reports by the entomologists (I think it was them) that said the remains had been there 4-6 months, based on roots growing through the bones.

I think the jury will believe the experts rather the wackos the defense has that are willing to say they didn't see a body..... first of all, the area was full of water. Even if it had not been, the underbrush was so thick and she was already decomposing, and they most likely wouldn't have seen her anyway.....

JB's just being an idiot again.......

Casey Anthony to return to court Monday

Updated: Wednesday, 31 Mar 2010, 10:53 AM EDT
Published: Wednesday, 31 Mar 2010, 10:25 AM EDT

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Casey Anthony's defense team will be in court Monday for a hearing over documents related to the search for Caylee. The defense wants to know more about Equusearch.

Equusearch is the search and rescue group from Texas that hunted around the same spot where Caylee was eventually found.

New evidence in the case was released last week.

Gallery: Documents Part 1 >>>
Gallery: Documents Part 2 >>>
Gallery: Documents Part 3 >>>

The documents contain information related to the search for Anthony’s daughter Caylee. They map out in
detail the search by Equusearch.

Casey Anthony remains jailed on a charge of first-degree murder in the death of her daughter Caylee who
was last seen in June of 2008, but she was not reported missing until a month later. Her remains were found in woods near the family's home on December 11, 2008. Investigators say the toddler's body
was found with duct tape over her mouth.

Casey has pleaded not guilty and claims a babysitter kidnapped Caylee.

"Out of a four day period of time of being in that house, Casey Anthony never said the word Caylee one time," Texas Equusearch founder Tim Miller told detectives.

Miller says he told colleagues he thought Equusearch should pull out of their search for Caylee before they even started looking for her back in August of 08. This, after meeting with Casey Anthony and her parents for the first time. Miller says he had to remind himself this was about little Caylee, not Casey.

When Miller described Casey Anthony demeanor to investigators, he said there was, "always a smile on her face. She was laughing... and literally, I thought that this girl was acting like she was going to a cheer-leading competition or something."

According to Miller, he and Casey's dad, George, were looking at a map of Orlando. Miller recalls George
saying, "Casey, where do they need to start searching? Would you make us a spot on the map? Would you make an 'X?'"

Miller says Cindy Anthony got angry and Casey got up and went to her room. But then he says Casey Anthony's attorney, Jose Baez, told him not to talk to Casey about the case. He says in the 1,100 missing person searches Texas Equusearch has done, that's the first time he had ever been asked to help in a search, but not allowed to talk to the last person who saw the missing person.

Investigators asked one Texas Equusearch volunteer to rate their search for Caylee Anthony on a scale from 1 to 100. The volunteer gave their search effort a "50," indicating it was "chaotic" and adding there were many problems with "mis-communications."

That could explain why Caylee's body was never found by the volunteer group. There have also been questions as to whether or not the wooded area along suburban drive where little Caylee's remains were
found had been thoroughly searched.

Investigators now have their answer. No. Under oath, at least four different Equusearch volunteers
say the area was underwater, preventing them from going back there. Those volunteers indicate they'd gone back several times to look for Caylee, but could not because of the high water levels.

Defense Seeks Witnesses In Casey Case
Casey Anthony To Return To Court Monday

POSTED: Tuesday, March 30, 2010
UPDATED: 11:11 am EDT March 31,2010

ORLANDO -- Casey Anthony will be returning to court as her defense seeks to find witnesses to bolster
their claim that someone else put Caylee's body in the woods while Anthony was jailed.

VIDEO: Anthony Due In Court Next Week

On Monday, Casey Anthony will ask a judge to give her more information about the 4,000 volunteers from Texas Equusearch, the group that helped look for Caylee.

Last year, a judge ordered the company to turn over personal contact information for only 32 of the volunteers since they had been the only ones in the Suburban Drive area where Caylee Anthony's body was found.

Now, however, Anthony's defense team claims there were more than just those 32 in the area, and they are seeking all of Equusearch's records -- including the names and phone numbers of all volunteers.

The defense said it believes some of the volunteers will be able to testify that Caylee Anthony's remains were not in the woods in September 2008.

Organizers with Texas Equusearch said none of their volunteers were ever in the exact spot were Caylee Anthony's body was found by the meter reader, and added that Anthony's attorneys could visit their lawyer's office at any time to inspect the records.

Yet, as of a few weeks ago, the defense had never made a trip across town to look at the records they are now seeking.

Local 6 plans to stream the hearing live when Casey Anthony appears in court on Monday. The feed will be available in its entirety on ClickOrlando.com.

EquuSearch: Casey’s Lawyers Never Came Seeking Documents

Thursday, April 01, 2010 11:27:36 AM
Reported by Jacqueline Fell

ORLANDO -- The search group that volunteered to look for Caylee Anthony has picked a fight in court.

Mark NeJame, representing Texas EquuSearch, said he opened his doors for the defense representing Caylee’s mother, Casey Anthony, to come look through all the names of the organization’s volunteers, but they never showed up to seek the documents.

Casey’s lawyers alleged EquuSearch was holding back on releasing the list of people who searched in the area where 2-year-old Caylee’s remains were later found in December 2008.

EquuSearch said should the defense want to question any other volunteers, there should be a private meeting with the judge, and he should decide.

A motion filed Friday
by NeJame’s law firm said Casey Anthony’s defense “is unneccessarily wasting this Honorable Court’s time, the taxpayer’s money and the undersigned’s resources by filing these frivolous motions.”

The two sides head to court Monday morning at 10 a.m.

Casey’s Defense Accused Of Wasting Tax Money

Posted: 5:21 pm EDT April 1,2010
Updated: 5:33 pm EDT April 1,2010

ORLANDO, Fla. --
Texas EquuSearch accused Casey Anthony’s defense team of wasting tax money and wants her to pay the volunteer group's legal fees for having to handle what it calls frivolous defense motions.

EquuSearch says the defense never reviewed records it requested on the 4,000 people who helped search for Caylee Anthony.

DOCUMENT: Motion To Obtain Records | Response To Motion

Also, in court papers released Thursday (read motion), EquuSearch says, if Casey's lawyers had reviewed those records, they would know whether or not what they're looking for exists instead of having to file more motions.

Taxpayers are now paying Casey's defense costs.

In the meantime, Friday is the defense's deadline if it wants to ask the judge to seal 50 letters Casey wrote to another Orange County inmate. Investigators say the letters are incriminating and the judge has said he'll probably release them.
