New Search for Haleigh Cummings Under Way, Centered Near Satsuma

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- The search for Haleigh Cummings, on going for more than a year, is focusing once again on areas near her father's hometown of Satsuma.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office said this morning that authorities are acting on a tip, but kept details of the search close to the vest.

The search is centered near Welaka, south of Satsuma along county Road 309.

The nature of the tip, the type of search being conducted and the specific location are being withheld because of the sensitive nature of the investigation, said Putnam Lt. Johnny Greenwood.

There will be no statements issued unless warranted, he said.

Haleigh Cummings was last seen in her father Ronald's home in February 2009. Ronald's then-girlfriend Misty Croslin, now his ex-wife, said she put Haleigh to bed that night, and that was the last anyone saw of her.

After extensive interviews with many people involved in Haleigh's life, detectives have said Croslin knows more than she's saying, but is not a suspect.

The father is at the scene..........This is still the ball field call. They keep making reference to him, and then calling him a suspect. then saying how upset he is. They've called for reinforcements to help deal with him.

A search of Misty Croslin-Cummings in the St. Johns County Jail log no longer appears. A call to the jail was made. On paper, she remains in custody of St. Johns County according officials at the jail, but she does not appear on the computer records. The Sgt. we spoke with said she might have possibly been taken to Putnam County for questioning or for other reasons.

Yes. The only source so far is Levi Page's Facebook, so I don't know if this is true or not.

I've always felt they dismissed/cleared him too quickly. If he is the one responsible, LE has some serious explaining to do. He's a sex offender, he was in Satsuma and family members reported his strange behavior that night. Then he left town........

I think this is going to be a miracle day.... first Nadia Bloom was found alive and well....... then they announced actual suspects in the Drexel case...... and I think this search has yielded something HUGE in Haleigh's case, which I admit, I thought was going the way of the Natalie Holloway case. kh

Well, there was a reason for that.....and I want to know what it is. I watched the news video, they stated LE was at Grandma's house (not sure which one) and told them to stay away from the scene because of possible contamination.

Yes, they are all at PCSO now though. kh

I just had a really wierd thought about why Misty was moved.......... could it be that she told them the location and that crazy LP made good on his promise to bail her out if she did? kh
