Are they confirming Misty's conversation with her as well?

I'm still confused over why Tommy or Joe would kill Haleigh!

One of granny's stories about Misty hitting Haleigh in the head makes the most sense to be because that very day Misty was on the phone with Ron telling him Haleigh would not go to bed and Ron (according to one of his workmates who says he overheard this) told Misty to WHIP HER until she went to bed!

I would not doubt Misty whipped her a little too much and too hard in a fit of frustration and Haleigh died! There doesn't have to be blood for a head injury to kill a person.

But there may have been blood on her clothes and blanket...as I recall they may have all washed before the 911 call was made. IIRC Misty said Haleigh peed on her blanket, but the blanket was cleaned and in the laundry basket along with the clothes Misty claimed Haleigh was last wearing.

Tommy may have come in to help her get rid of the body.

But I still somehow want to fit Ron in as being involved after Haleigh died. He's such an ASS, he may have hit her in the head before he went to work and maybe she had a headache or something and protesting going to bed, so Misty calls Ron and tells him she's still being a little brat, he tells Misty to whip her good! Misty beats her and Haleigh finally goes on to bed and ends up dying from the head whacking Ron gave her. Misty thinks she did it so she calls Tommy to help her ditch the body and then she makes up the kidnapping story for Ron to believe. Or something LOL

Anything is possible. I still think Ron was involved. I also think it is possible that cousin joe is just a red herring that tommy and his sister threw out there... who knows, maybe the got a happy meal or something for collectively pointing there fingers at him. I just dunno tho. kh

I hate to imply it, but wouldn't a grown man kill a small girl if he feared she would "talk", tell what was done to her by this man? I hope that's not the case, but it makes sense.

Croslin Jr.'s attorney: He didn't make any confessions in Haleigh Cummings case

Hank "Tommy" Croslin Jr.'s attorney released a statement this morning saying that he did not confess anything about Haleigh Cummings' disappearance to his grandmother.

Croslin Jr. is the brother of Misty Croslin, who reported the 5-year-old missing Feb. 10, 2009. She had been dating and living with the girl's father, Ronald Cummings, who was at work when she said Haleigh disappeared from their Satsuma home.

Croslin Jr., who is in jail on unrelated drug charges with her sister and Cummings, submitted to a lie detector test this month and later met with representatives of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, State Attorney's Office and FBI.

His attorney said Croslin Jr. then took the investigators to the Shell Harbour Road boat ramp, which became the epicenter for three days of revived searching for Cummings this week.

Croslin's grandmother, Flora Hollars, said she was responsible for the revived search after calling investigators with new details the Croslins gave her.

Jim Werter, who represents Croslin Jr., said in a news release that Croslin Jr. "did not tell Flora Hollars anything about the investigation except to have his attorney contact and meet with him."

"This is in response to latest claims by various reporting agencies that they have verified that Tommy Croslin confessed to Hollars. He did not," Werter said.

Hollars told the Times-Union in several interviews that she got a tearful phone call from Croslin Jr. Sunday night telling her that his cousin, Joseph Overstreet of Nashville, was responsible for Haleigh's disappearance, which the Sheriff's Office began calling a homicide this week.

Hollars also said that her granddaughter Misty Croslin told her that Overstreet held a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her and her family if they told that he came for Haleigh.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office confirmed this morning that Croslin Jr. spoke with Hollars recently, but declined to discuss the details of the recorded conversations. They also declined to release the conversations, citing an exemption from Florida's public records law for information related to an active criminal investigation.

Haleigh Update: Sheffield's Attorney Issues Press Release

The attorney for the mother of missing 6-year-old Haleigh Cummings of Satsuma, who has been missing since February 2009 when she was taken from her home and has been the subject of a massive search, issued a press release today.

Carol A. Caldwell issued the statement to the media via email Friday afternoon stating that Crystal Sheffield and her family are cooperating with the law enforcement investigation regarding Haleigh disappearance saying that Crystal is in regular contact with the Putnam County Sheriff's Department.

Ms. Caldwell also stated in the release that Crystal and her family members do not wish to speak with the media or give any media interviews and asks that the media respect their wished for privacy at this time.

New Details Emerge In Haleigh's Disappearance

SATSUMA -- Misty Croslin's grandmother now says she knows what happened the night little Haleigh Cummings disappeared.

Flora Hollars said she talked to Misty Thursday and told her it was time to tell the truth.

Hollars said Misty told her she was not involved but knows what happened.

Her grandmother said she had heard rumors that Haleigh had been given OxyContin and had an accidental overdose.

She told Misty enough was enough as she wasn't raised a liar.

"Baby don't cry,” Hollars said. “This is something you should have said a long time ago. She says ‘But Nanny I was scared.’ Are you telling the police, too? She said yes I am. Tied a brick block to the rope and dropped her into the St. Johns River.”

When asked why, Misty did not tell her grandmother or give her details about a possible drug overdose.

Sadly, the 'new' search for Haleigh seems to have come to an end with more questions than answers. kh

Unfortunately, this may be the case unless the analysis of the two cinder blocks or whatever else they pulled out of the river turns up something. I wonder if any of what we heard this week about Haleigh being dumped in the river is even true. Is there any evidence that corroborates any of this besides the words of various members of the Croslin family?

It seems like everything we heard this week was based on the words of people who could easily be making the whole thing up in an effort to shift the focus to Joe Overstreet and get plea deals on the drug charges. Tommy did say in a phone call with his wife Lindsay that Misty's lawyer wanted him to go along with their little story and put it on his cousin. Tommy may have later decided that it wasn't a bad idea to do so.

Trying to imagine what might have happened to Haleigh with bits and parts of what they all say I'm intrigued by Misty talking about Joe coming for his gun and not finding it etc etc.

What if they were fighting over the gun, it was there and they were just being irresponsible with it, and it went off accidentally and shot Haleigh?

I think it's odd that they say the gun wasn't there, but they never said where it might be.

THanks for this link J4A...... I had not seen that. I think Ron has always had a "pretty good idea" what happened.... In fact, I think he has first hand knowledge about what happened. But that's just me. Time will tell! kh
