Re: New Search for HaLeigh 04/13
The sad thing about this case is that there were too many places where Haleigh could have been disposed of which would leave no trace. Too many swampy areas handy, making a burial site in dry earth unlikely. It is clear that Casey's choice of the drop off site of Caylee was "a mistake, a huge mistake". Others have learned from Casey's mistake - and they didn't need to be skilled in the art of body disposal. What the murderers needed was simply a "leave no trace place". It is only the truly evil that are capable of such a deed.
I am positive that if Misty knew what really happened to Haleigh that Ron knows also, and if Misty truthfully was the only one responsible, Ron would have "punished" Misty immediately.

Did anyone else catch it on JVM that JVM said they were searching for "the knife"? I heard it last week but haven't seen it talked about since. It was the day they had Misty out there.

I didn't catch it Fysty, but I found this in the JVM transcripts.
VELEZ-MITCHELL: I am taking your calls on these extraordinary developments: 1-877-JVM- SAYS. That`s 1-877-586-7297.
So much to get to with my amazing panel, all top experts on the Haleigh Cummings case. We begin with Art Harris of TheBaldTruth.com.
Art, you have broken so many stories on this case. I understand you have new information tonight. What is the very latest?
ART HARRIS, INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALIST: Jane, I can tell you, I just got off the phone with the grandmother, Flora Hollars, who I`ve been speaking to exclusively over the last several months.
She told me that, after Tommy flunked his lie detector test last week, he called her, wanted to get something off his chest. That`s when she asked him about his involvement. He said, "It wasn`t me." And that`s when he revealed and she confirmed it was Joe.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Got it.
HARRIS: We heard her confirm that. And now, he is saying to her, you know, she called -- she called Misty and asked her what she knew. Misty finally said that she had been to the river and had been pointing out where the murder weapon was. That is what cops had her out there for yesterday. That comes as a result of the grandmother`s relaying the information to police, Jane.
VELEZ-MITCHELL: But, Art, if she, according to our own story, didn`t go down to the river, she claims and Tommy, her brother, claims that Joe took her to the river. Why would she know where the knife was?
HARRIS: Well, she and Tommy have been covering for each other all this time, apparently. It looks like from his lies that he was not at the house first. Then he came to the house at 10 p.m.
Misty has flunked several polygraphs. I reported the latest one February 26. And now, it looks like they have brought their stories together and that Misty is relaying what Tommy has told her.
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Got it. OK. Let me just set up the clip here. Calling from jail, where he has been held on drug trafficking charges, Tommy told his grandmother on the phone that Cousin Joe went into Ron`s trailer that night that Haleigh disappeared with a knife. Tommy says Joe put a knife to Misty`s throat and then kidnapped Haleigh.
About 15 minutes after that, Grandma got another call from Misty, who is also in jail on drug trafficking charges. Misty also told grandma that Joe held a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her if she told anyone.
Listen to this.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
HOLLARS: What Tommy told me when I broke him down was the fact that Joe stated to him that, if he opened his mouth and said anything, that he would bring a gun back down there and kill his whole family. And Misty stated that he had put a knife to her throat that night, which I know Joe does have knives, and I know Joe does have guns in his house out there.

Besides this little bit, I couldn't find any other mention of a knife.

That was it. There wasn't any more talk of it except that. Doesn't it seem odd that she says that? It could have been a mistake in wording but it didn't seem like it. My first reaction was WTH? A knife? What did they do to her? But then there wasn't any more mention of a knife.

Bone Found Not Related To Cummings Case
Putnam Sheriff: Bone Did Not Belong To Haleigh Cummings
POSTED: 5:24 pm EDT June 21, 2010
UPDATED: 5:51 pm EDT June 21, 2010
PALATKA, Fla. -- The Putnam County Sheriff's Office released a statement Monday to "clear up any misunderstandings," about a recent news report involving the Haleigh Cummings case.
A statement released by the Sheriff's Office said a Gainesville newspaper reported that a human bone was found during a recent search of the St. Johns River in the investigation into the Haleigh Cummings case.
The statement said a forensic anthropologist quickly determined that the bone did not belong to Haleigh.
The Sheriff's Office said discovering bones in the St. Johns River is not uncommon due to a large number of American Indians that once lived in the area.
The Haleigh Cumming case, according to the Sheriff's Office, is still considered an active criminal investigation.
Haleigh disappeared from her home near Satsuma during the early-morning hours of Feb. 10, 2009, while Misty Croslin, her father's girlfriend at the time, was babysitting.
A new tip took searchers to a dock off Shell Harbor Road in Haleigh's home town of Satsuma. Investigators said Croslin was brought to the area during the search.
Recently, Misty's brother Hank Croslin Jr., who is known to family as Tommy, told his grandmother during a jailhouse phone conversation that he feels he must open up about what happened to Haleigh.
Misty Croslin and Haleigh's father, Ronald Cummings, are currently in jail after being arrested during a drug sting.

I know it seems as though this case has come to a stand-still but rest assured the worker bees are still at it...I don't know how much progress is being made, but I feel it in my bones that they haven't given up yet...The drug case will be tried and people sentenced before justice for Haleigh...Who did it??? I dunno...Where is she??? I dunno...Will she eva be found??? I dunno cause there certainly won't be much left of her...Will we eva find out the truth??? I dunno...God and the perps only know what happened...

I've been thinking...which can be dangerous...but if Hayleigh was dumped in the river she could have relocated due to the river's current, or the "bag" could have been pulled to another location by an animal or reptile...Just my opinion as to why she hasn't been located yet...

Croslins' stories add to clue count in Haleigh's case
Pair, Haleigh's dad key in case

PALATKA - Investigators may be inching closer to discovering what happened to missing Haleigh Cummings because of her father's cooperation in the investigation and bits of information that have surfaced in recent months, his attorney said Friday.
Ronald Cummings' help and sensitivity to the fact he is Haleigh's father may have been factors in an agreement that will likely get him a 15-year prison sentence on three charges of trafficking in hydrocodone, said Terry Shoemaker, his attorney.
Cummings was charged in five cases but two were dropped. He pleaded guilty Friday in Palatka and will be sentenced Sept. 24.
His mother, grandmother and other family members sat in the courtroom but did not want to comment afterward. Haleigh's mother, Crystal Sheffield, who has long been estranged from Cummings, said later his prison sentence would hurt their son.

Snipped from the article above:
Shoemaker said he has not spoken to investigators for a couple of weeks but believes they are nearer to determining what happened.
"I think they are closer; I think so," he said. "I think they are able to use a lot of information from Misty and Tommy and piece it together."
Will we really finally find out where HaLeigh is and what happened to her?

New, chilling details in the case of Haleigh Cummings
Hank Croslin Jr. tells attorney he saw Joe Overstreet and that missing girl was likely dead before disappearance was reported.

By Dana Treen
Chilling new details about the fate of missing Haleigh Cummings emerged Thursday from the attorney of Hank "Tommy" Croslin Jr., proposing that the 5-year-old was dead hours before her disappearance was reported.
Croslin, now 24, was with his cousin Joe Overstreet when the two went to a Putnam County boat ramp with the girl where she was dumped into the St. Johns River inside a bag, said attorney James Werter.
"He saw Joe take Haleigh down to the dock," Werter said Thursday. "When he came back, he didn't have Haleigh."
Werter said Croslin has been telling authorities since April that he and Overstreet, who is from Tennessee, went to the Satsuma mobile home where Haleigh was being watched by Croslin's sister and that Overstreet grabbed Haleigh.
