Police are looking for a girl reported missing Friday from the Southwest Side Archer Heights neighborhood.

Maria Saucedo, 12, was reported missing from the 4900 block of South Kolin Avenue and was last seen Monday, according to an alert issued by Wentworth Area detectives.

Saucedo attends Florence Nightingale Elementary School located at 52nd and Rockwell Streets and may be in the area of Homan Avenue and 24th Street, according to the alert.

Saucedo is described as a Hispanic girl, 4-foot-9 and 120 pounds with brown eyes and black hair, the alert said.

Maria hasn't been seen since last Monday April 26th, she wasn't reported missing until Friday April 30th. Why would a family wait that long before calling the police?
