The Anthony/CBS Deal

Here's a link to 56 photos of Caylee. Some of them I've never seen before. Seems it's from a deal Casey made with CBS for $20,000. I hate her!

Snaz, when I clicked on the above slide show, I got a message that it could not download as this time. When I clicked on the link below it, I got an error message as well.

What am I doing wrong?

Lottie, just out of curiosity, where did you read that KC made a deal for $20K with CBS for the pictures? I have seen the pictures but haven't read about the deal and am interested to read about it.

sitemama, I'm not sure. I can get the slideshow just fine... from both the link and the slideshow I embedded.

I got it fine....all I did was click on the arrow to start it...

I hadn't seen a lot of the newborn photos. There are several of Caylee when she was much younger than the ones that have been circulated since this horrific event began. She was an unforgettable child. Her enormous eyes are haunting, and she owns a place in my heart.
RIP Caylee Marie Angelbabe.

Oops, sorry. It was Cindy and George who got the $20,000 from CBS for that 48 hour mystery show and they went on that cruise with it apparently.

Here's the link....scroll down to where it says "WFTV reported that George and Cindy received $20,000 as a licensing fee for footage and photos used by CBS in the program." and you can click there but it doesn't take you to the right page. Useless! I'll try to find it elsewhere.

Thanks for clarifying, Lottie. I remember the CBS deal C & G made... I thought maybe there was a separate deal made with KC I hadn't heard about.

Interesting that these 56 pictures have now been reduced to only 32.... all the pictures that included the Winnie the Pooh blanket have been removed..... I wonder why.

CBS News says there’s no new licensing agreement on photos

Readers have called attention to new Casey and Caylee Anthony photos posted by CBS News on its “48 Hours Mystery” web site.

But there is no new licensing agreement, and some of those photos aired last fall on the CBS news magazine, a spokeswoman for “48 Hours Mystery” said today.

CBS News said it added a link to the photos when it put up a new Anthony story on its Crimesider blog.

George and Cindy Anthony received $20,000 through the licensing agreement (for photos and video) with CBS News last year. The parents of Casey Anthony appeared on two CBS News programs, “48 Hours Mystery” and “The Early Show.”

Casey Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee.

Context is important in stories, and WFTV-Channel 9 dropped context in reporting on the Casey Anthony saga on Wednesday night. Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee.

WFTV reported that CBS News paid $20,000 for several photos of Casey and Caylee Anthony that were recently posted on the CBS web site. Those photos included one of Casey after giving birth to Caylee. Another showed Casey in her high-school senior portrait.

"CBS News says it got those photos last year," WFTV anchor Bob Opsahl said.

Actually, CBS News last year paid George and Cindy Anthony $20,000 for a trove of material — videos and photos — that the network used on "The Early Show" and "48 Hours Mystery." The parents of Casey Anthony appeared on both those programs as well last fall.

Now you may not like that the Anthonys sold the material. And you may think it's wrong for networks to pay such licensing fees.

But the WFTV report made it sound as if CBS News had paid $20,000 just for those newly posted photos. And the network didn't. The new photos were part of the old licensing deal, CBS News said Monday.

My understanding is that under those deals, such material becomes a network's property in perpetuity. The network can use the photos and video as it sees fit.

Well, good job Cindy...your off-spring Casey must hate you even more now. That is one ugly non-graduation photo, and even more, why was she wearing feathers.

I thought senior portraits are done in the traditional cap and gown garb.

Look at those pupils....she was stoned out of her gourd when that photo was taken...

Casey wearing feathers is appropro, any one who commits a murder then goes next door to ask the neighbour to loan her a shovel....... Birdbrain!

Brilliant eva...Wish I'd thought of that...My original thought was more racy...more like she was auditioning to play Sally Rand...Wonder what's beneath those feathers???
