Re: Eyes For Lies ~ Worth revisiting
Here's another impression I get of Ron....he's so burnt out from so much drug use he has no real feelings for anything beyond what is good for him. That happens with habitual drug users. They really do lose any sense of emotional feeling for others, even for those they really do love. Their brain cells are screwed up! They simply can't get past personal survival.
If he found Haleigh dead by some accident, IMO, his first consideration would be to hide it so Crystal would not get custody of Junior so he would not have to -both- lose child support from her and have to pay child support to her. No double whammy for Ron!
IMO...why did Ron get married to Misty and why did she agree? 1. he didn't want her being a minor to be an issue, and 2. he stupidly thought and convinced Misty that married couples can't be made to rat on each other so she'd be safe from further interrogations that way.
IMO...why did they get unmarried? Misty was no longer a minor, and they found out that married couple code of silence didn't apply to what was known before they got married and maybe also didn't apply in cases of someone dying.
Ron IS the key!

butterfly..I am sorry for your loss and I cannot imagine what pain you have had to endure to this day. I have not experienced the loss of one of my own children, but I do see contradictory behavior in Ron. There is simply something "off" about this entire strange story that has unfolded.
Lottie, I too feel that Ron dominates Misty, and she is afraid of him even as she sits in a jail cell. Misty told the story she was coached to tell to 911 while Ron stood off making threats. Ron has stated "he was at work" and that is his alibi. I find it strange that he hasn't lashed out at Misty for "the truth - and how could she let his child get stole". He won't come right out and say that Misty knows what really happened, but that is the conclusion he is trying to promote.

No one knows how they will react until it happens to you. I knew who had killed my daughter, and he was in custody, but I felt like I shouldn't leave my house for anything pleasurable. Just to stay home and take care of her 2-1/2 y/o son and 13 month old daughter.
About two weeks later, a friend took me shopping to buy a few things for the kids that she wanted to buy them. Then we stopped at Shoney's (long time ago) for lunch.
A group of EMT's came in and sat behind us. 3 men and 1 woman. The woman started talking about Kim's case, as she was dispatched to the home early that morning. All she could talk about was how good looking her husband was, and didn't see how she ever got a man like that. If I had a weapon, that woman would have been dead. But, since I didn't, I pulled her, by the hair, over the guy sitting next to her, and proceeded to hit, punch and kick her till the guys pulled me off her. I really believe I would have killed her.
After the guys found out who I was, they refused to call the police and promised me no charges would be pressed against me. The guys apologized for everything the b---- said, but she never apologized. My atty wrote a letter to her supervisors and she lost her job. I was told they are not supposed to speak about a case when they are in public.

And, of course, Misty didn't let his child get stole or else, if he really thought she did, he'd have been pissed at her and demanded she start talking NOW! He's not the hands-off sort of guy. He might even would have choked her like Cindy did Casey. But he didn't do that. He went an married her!
sitemama, I'm sorry for your loss! I didn't know you had a loved one murdered! *big hugs*
your reaction is more like what Ron should have done though. You don't just take a loss like that lying down whether you're mama, daddy, brother or sister....

site, huge hugs with heartfelt tears of knowing your pain. As we know, one day at a time. Pm me anytime if you'd like. I'd be curious to know if you've witnessed any kind of "signs', from your beloved daughter. I'm all ears hon.
aside the crap you delt with, must have felt great to let loose and get the anger out. Great opportunity but not under the best of circumstances in the least. Hell, I was smiling hearing what you did. (big grin)
anyway... wanted to address some of the responses with the way Ron's behavior is. ok, with the 911 call.. I personally have to eliminate Ron's words simply because those sheer emotions that cut like a knife of knowing what happened (haleigh missing).. can make a person say or do just about anything.
I think the reason why Ron "appears" at times suspicious, is because of his not so great past. I remember so many years ago my dad at one time told me, "that to always remain out of trouble because if the day ever comes you ever need help, you need to appear credible". with that said, and thankfully I listened.. lol.. but my dad is right on that account.
because.. as we can see Ron's entire situation. Lets say this wasn't about missing 5-6 year old Haleigh and instead Ron was being accused of beating up a woman so badly it killed her but no one saw Ron do it, they just suspected he did. Right off the public would think Ron did it just by the way he treated all his woman even if Ron really didn't kill the woman at all. This is the situation I see Ron is in when it comes to his daughter. A bad past to where, he must know something. I just don't see that really. and know, obviously I could be wrong and I'll be the very first to admit that if its proven.
Aside Ron, there are no other family members that have ever witnessed Misty to hurt or harm either child. I'm quite certain Misty wasn't the "greatest" in the care with the two but for her age, I'm sure she thought she was doing the best she could. With that said, and being Ron Lived with Misty, he probably was in denial she had any involvement at all knowing He (ron) never witnessed Misty being neglectful to his kids. I don't think Misty had involvement directly, I think the burden of Misty lies with going out, coming home, getting into bed not knowing Haleigh was gone and then awoke... got up, saw the light on, saw the brick propped and then noticed she was missing. Either that, or she went out, came home, got into bed and went to sleep, got back up and noticed Haleigh gone, called Timmy and he propped the door open with a brick to cover for misty going out. again, only a theory but that call to timmy prior to 911 had to consist of something.
I'm curious to the ages to some of the posters on this board. I am 45. 46 in July- bummer!! lol. The only reason I point this out is because I feel alot can be learned through experience. I've already raised my kids, they are no longer teenagers ( praise the good lord, ha ha) but I've had my fair share of crap to deal with, luckily none of it involved the law. I see quite the difference from when I was a teen but then again, dicipline was different too. My dad was chief master sargeant of the Airforce for 25 years and in those years, he was a drill sargeant. His kids ( us) were brought up hard core. We looked the wrong way or spoke out of turn and stars we would see hands down. In looking back however, I can see why. In todays times however, you smack your child and your child is taught this is wrong. Nothing wrong with a good smack thats needed. I can definitely tell that none of the Cummings or Croslins were brought up on any kind of dicipline or guidance what so ever. Which is why I can see through some of the negativity being spewed out by Ron and why Ron's need to clam up or not appear like he's acting properly. Based on Rons' skeletins in the closet he probably isn't so proud of, he wanted this case on Haleigh and Haleigh alone because he "knew" he wouldn't be "credible" due to other things.
If you're between the ages of 20-30, you probably wouldn't already been through any experience with teenagers of your own and to understand how "different' they can act in todays times vs. years of the past.
I see Misty as a young girl who lost out on so much due to not being raised proper. She met a guy that was appealing to the life she once lived and to me, the girl only wanted to be loved. yes, Misty does have a nasty side too but as a whole, I see her as a victem. Not only to Ron, but to the state of Florida using her to solve the case.
I see Ron as a mama's boy. A very troubled kid who got messed up on drugs and alcohol. Due to his drug use he took out frustration on woman and children at times. Not excusing his actions in the least, just saying it as I see it.
Ron IMO got so hooked on drugs, he did illegal things to keep his drugs continued. He was a guy who was intrigued with weapons. Alot of boys are. He owned a gun as well. Not saying this is good. Now, when Haleigh went missing and with Ron learning just that when he got home from work, after the aftermath of learning the worst at some point Ron is going to come to grips of a past he figured would be brought to light and a past he didn't want out there. I would bet his own mother told him he better not reveal any of it b/c it might take away from helping to find Haleigh. Its not too often we hear about troubled parents whose kids that are missing get the attention this case is getting right now. They are starting to surface, but to me, just recently.
I think the biggest reason why the Casey case got so much attention is because Casey's dad was at one time a cop. Their family vs Haleighs family is quite opposite but usually the media only hits on families who come from higher class.... until just recently.
I think i'm rambling..sorry =( anyway, thank you guys for the warm thoughts. I have my ups and down days but for the most part, I feel so much better lately with the help I finally got. What anyone wouldn't give right now for the truth to be told and to put the case to rest one way or another.. btw, I think LE did a crappy job all the way around.
