Casey A No-Show At Court Hearing After Falling

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Casey Anthony wasn't present in court Tuesday afternoon for a hearing in the murder case after falling at the courthouse. Judge Belvin Perry will hear motions involving jail visiting log records, rulings by a former judge, aggravating circumstances and a supplemental motion to compel forensic evidence.

COURT HEARING: Part 1 | Part 2
"Casey Anthony suffered a fall in the courthouse while being transported to the courtroom and received what appear to be minor injuries when her restraints became entangled and she fell forward. Escorting officers were unable to catch her before she fell. She is currently being seen by medical personnel in an undisclosed location," Orange County Corrections spokesperson Allen Moore said in Tuesday afternoon release. "Based on all information available, this was purely an accident."
Meanwhile, there are four issues for Chief Judge Belvin Perry to consider Tuesday afternoon, despite Casey's absence.
The first discussed Tuesday afternoon, once again, involved the defense asking to keep public records private. They don't want anyone to know who is visiting Casey in jail.
The defense has tried to get special treatment for Casey before. They don't want security cameras in place when she's consulting with her lawyers or when her family visits her. Now, they don't want her jail visitor logs to remain public as they are for everyone else at the jail.
“I haven’t come up with anything on point dealing with this issue,” Judge Perry said, referring to other cases involving the same type of request made by the defense.
The defense says they want experts to visit her who won't necessarily be called as witnesses in the case and they don't want everyone, specifically prosecutors, to know who those visitors are.
"I will issue a ruling, hopefully, by sometime next week," Judge Perry said regarding the request to keep the records private.
The defense is also asking Judge Perry to reconsider some motions that Judge Stan Strickland had already ruled on before he recused himself from the case over defense concerns about his conversations with a blogger; when they asked the judge to step down, they did not cite any specific rulings he made that they believed to be unfair based on his dealings with the blogger.
Judge Perry said that the rulings previously made will stand, though will reconsider a previous ruling regarding EquuSearch.
The defense is also claiming prosecutors weren't specific enough when they listed the five legal reasons (read them) they believe Casey should face a death sentence if she's convicted.
"They have complied with the court's order," Judge Perry said after little discussion, ruling that the five legal reasons given are sufficient.
The defense was also pushing for the prosecution to provide tips that were received by law enforcement. Judge Perry granted the motion and asked the two parties to work together to get it done.
Finally, Judge Perry denied the motion for additional discovery and bench notes, but said the defense could refile a more specific motion as warranted.
The hearing concluded around 4:15pm.

You being a mind reader now Snaz??? That was my first thought too...Lets see...what could have caused it...chains too short??? too long??? steps too difficult to maneuver???? too steep??? Couldn't break her fall cause of hand cuffs??? escort walked too close to her and bumped her??? ..Cruel punishment...a defendant shouldn't have to be cuffed or ankle chained.when going into the courthouse..It's degrading!!!!

Camera Captures Casey Anthony's Fall
Video Of Fall Likely To Be Released On Wednesday

ORLANDO, Fla. --Authorities in Orange County confirmed on Wednesday that a video camera captured the fall suffered by Casey Anthony before her hearing on Tuesday.
Orange County Communications Manager Steve Triggs said he has viewed the video taken from an overhead camera in the elevator where the fall happened.
Triggs said it appeared one of Anthony's leg chains became entangled in the opening between the elevator and elevator door, causing her to fall forward.
Triggs said it doesn't currently appear there were any security issues arising from the incident.
Triggs said the video would likely be released to the public on Wednesday afternoon.

Casey Anthony fall: Video captures moment Casey Anthony falls in courthouse
News reports show she busted her lip and chipped her tooth on Tuesday.
By Bianca Prieto and Walter Pacheco, Orlando Sentinel
2:07 p.m. EDT, June 2, 2010
An overhead camera at the Orange County Courthouse captured Casey Anthony's fall outside an elevator.
Orange County spokesman Steve Triggs said the video recording shows Anthony's leg restraints becoming entangled in the space between the elevator and door, causing her to trip and fall forward.
Triggs said the corrections officers who were flanking her inside the elevator helped Anthony back up.
Allen Moore of the Orange County Jail said she was treated at a hospital for "relatively minor" injuries.
Some news reports show she busted her lip and chipped her tooth.
Moore said confidentiality rules prevented him from confirming those reports.
Officials said the video will be released to the public later this afternoon.
The fall caused Anthony to miss her two-hour hearing Tuesday where her defense attorneys argued about several legal issues, including the death penalty.
Anthony, 24, faces a count of first-degree murder in the 2008 death of her daughter Caylee Marie.
The toddler's remains were found in December 2008, six months after her mother claims she last saw her alive

Video captures moment Casey Anthony falls in courthouse elevator
By Bianca Prieto and Walter Pacheco, Orlando Sentinel
2:33 p.m. EDT, June 2, 2010
An overhead camera at the Orange County Courthouse captured Casey Anthony's fall inside of an elevator.
The 32-second video shows a security officer walk into the elevator, followed by Casey Anthony who appears to be shackled at the feet and waist. When she crosses the threshold she falls forward without warning. Because she is shackled, it doesn't look as though she was able to catch herself.
The security officers assist her in rolling over and helping her to sit up. The doors to the elevator close and the video stops.

Mee too Snaz! I wonder, since NG didn't feel the hearing was important enough to discuss on her show last night if she'll think the vid of the fall is?

I agree, Randi... she probably did cry some real tears.... over the damage to her beautiful face....
Oh, and she'll sue.... no doubt in my mind. She's already counting the money. Of course, if she were to get any, which is doubtful, she would have to use it toward her defense.... less for the State to pay. So one way or the other, the State will pay.
And if the elder A's thought they could sue on her behalf and get some money, I feel certain they would. But since KC is an adult, they can't....
I guess I'm done being mean now........ maybe......
