Mommy's Little Girl Discussion

Post by Justice4all on Tue Jul 13, 2010 7:54 pm

I finally finished reading Mommy's Little Girl and figured I would start a thread for anybody who wants to discuss the book. If you haven't read the book yet, there may be spoilers.

It's amazing reading how many lies Casey told. There seems to be at least one lie pointed out on every page.

The author, Diane Fanning, seems to be going with the chloroform theory. There is a chapter where she recreates what may have happened. Here is an excerpt.

The police found evidence that three months earlier, someone using Casey's computer had conducted internet searches for chloroform recipes. Police believed that person was Casey, and now was the time to put that knowledge to use. Assembling the materials needed would not have been difficult - pool chlorinator, a bottle of acetone, a glass container, and lots of ice. She would have also needed an abundance of caution to avoid inhaling any of the escaping vapors. When the process was complete, it would have been easy to persuade Caylee to inhale the sweet-smelling fumes.

Then she goes on to write that the duct tape was wrapped around Caylee's mouth and nose to ensure that she never woke up.

I'm not sure how this matches up with the docs, but in another part of the book, Fanning writes that when Casey gave George the gas cans back, she almost ran to beat George to the trunk, grabbed the gas cans, and slammed the trunk before George could get a glimpse inside.

There is another part where Fanning writes that we may never know where Casey got the money to pay for her defense. Of course, we all know how that turned out.
