JAC Files Motion for Clarification of KC's Indigent Status

Basically, the JAC wants confirmation that the new attorneys who have recently joined KC's defense team are working PRO BONO...... and that the defendant has not come into any additional funds since having been declared indigent.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- The state body that doles out money to indigent defendants wants to make sure Casey Anthony is still broke.

In a new motion for clarification, lawyers for the Justice Administrative Commission noted that Casey Anthony recently had three new attorneys join her defense team.

JAC lawyers said they don't know whether these lawyers are being paid or doing the work for free.

The agency is asking Judge Belvin Perry to find out.

I'm glad the JAC is keeping close tabs on this. I wouldn't put it past the defense to have told Casey to hold off on any potentially lucrative financial deals (such as an interview, a book or movie deal, or the sale of more photos and videos) until after she was declared indigent, and then to go ahead with them.
