COVINGTON, Ky. -- Police have issued an alert Friday for a teen missing from Covington for more than a week.

Investigators said 17-year-old Paige Johnson was last seen in the area of Scott and 15th streets and reported missing Sept. 23.

The Florence girl was described as 5 feet 1 inch tall and about 110 pounds.

The teen was last seen wearing a multicolored jacket and jeans.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call police at 859-292-2222 or the Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678

Covington police are looking for help finding a local teenager who they are classifying as a critical missing person. 17-year-old Paige Johnson of Florence was last seen September 23rd when a friend dropped her off at 15th Street and Scott Street in Covington. Her friends and family have not heard anything from her since that day. Covington Police Captain Teal Nally says it's very unusual for Paige to be gone this long without having contact with anyone.

The Florence girl's mother said her daughter always checks in on a daily basis but has not been doing that.

Police said the situation was now critical because the leads they have followed have not checked out.

Witnesses said Johnson was dropped off in Covington by an undisclosed male, but police said he "is now being less than 100 percent forthcoming."

Did the witnesses say which way Paige went and which way the undisclosed male drove off? It seems like they would release more details in a case like this. Were there really multiple witnesses who saw her being dropped off, or did that story come from him saying he dropped Paige off and hasn't seen her since? Is there a logical reason she would be dropped off at that intersection, like it being close to home or being close to a friend's house? The articles discussing this case are leaving me with a lot of questions.

Me too....one article said she was reported missing 9/23, but the police didn't issue a public statement until October 1st, for some reason. Many questions left unanswered and facts left out of the news reports. Covington, KY is across the riverfront from Downtown Cinci, considered part of the Cin-Northern KY metro area. The Cincinnati airport lies between Covington, KY and Florence, Ky. Although Florence is not that far from Covington (about 10 miles), it wouldn't be considered close to home, if she lives in Florence as stated. If she's only 17 and has a 2 year old, my guess is Paige and the toddler live with Paige's mother.

I would think they would release this man's name and picture in case people that know him would be able to report if there were other sightings of him and/or Paige. The original report said a friend dropped her off in Covington. Now they are reporting it was an undisclosed male that dropped her off and he is now not being 100% forthcoming....so did he really take Paige to Covington to begin with.

In the video, her mother says she was traveling to her sister's house in Covington and was dropped off at 1AM in the morning at that intersection.

No more news on Paige today, which is very sad. Nothing is being reported that I can find. The man that dropped her off in Covington is not cooperating and has lawyered up. And her boyfriend has lawyered up as well.

I hope she is safe and found soon.

COVINGTON, Ky. -- Police have received a steady stream of tips about a missing Florence teenager, but so far they haven't located the girl.

Investigators said 17-year-old Paige Johnson was last seen Sept. 23 in the area of Scott and 15th streets and reported missing.

Witnesses said Johnson was dropped off in Covington by an undisclosed male, but police said they found reason to doubt his account of events.

However, police said, they have found no evidence that a crime has been committed in the girl's disappearance.

Search continues for missing Florence teen

COVINGTON - Investigators unleashed search dogs Friday and representatives from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children continued to look, but no one was able to find missing 17-year-old Paige Johnson.

"They are looking for Paige around the clock," Kenton Commonwealth's Attorney Rob Sanders said. "Detectives have crisscrossed Northern Kentucky and Southern Ohio."

Patrol officers have canvassed Covington's East Side neighborhood where Johnson was last seen Sept. 23. Sanders said his office has issued numerous subpoenas for records. Family members have hung hundreds of missing person posters and appeared on the cable television show "Nancy Grace" Wednesday appealing for the public's help.

Johnson's mother, Donna Johnson, has not heard from the 17-year-old mother since a male acquaintance dropped her off at about 1 a.m. at 15th and Scott streets to visit a friend.

Paige's mother and grandmother spent the weekend posting fliers. They say they're going to try to cover every telephone pole in the area with her picture.

"We want Paige home," said her mother, Donna Johnson. "We can't sleep at night - we don't want to stop until we find her, and we won't stop until we find her."

Missing teen’s Facebook page falls silent

COVINGTON, Ky. - Everyone involved in the Paige Johnson case is on Facebook … everyone except the missing teen herself. And police said that could be cause for concern.

While the police still have no concrete leads about what happened to the 17-year-old who disappeared nearly three weeks ago, they continue to search for her around the clock. The search has even extended to a check of her social habits on the Internet and that's where police have come up cold -- no e-mails sent; no Facebook status updates; no MySpace chats or messages.

Police consider the teenager’s lack of social network activity as a possible concern.

Family, friends and the community have been all about social networking in the search for the missing teen. They are using Facebook to reach out to friends across the country—posting information and flyers about Johnson’s disappearance to their online pages, as well as starting the group, “ Keep Paige Johnson In Our Prayers. We Will Find Her <3 .”
