Another one bites the dust!!! I've got to go back now and read her motion to withdraw...I guess she's had enough Circus to last her a lifetime and with that Ocala/Gainesville attorney on board now perhaps she feels like she just isn't needed...I take that back...We all know it is probably The Money Factor...I'm sure she got hers while the getting was good...I just cant see her volunteering to go to Orlando...Bet she took in Disney, Universal, Sea World and a bunch of other tourist spots while she was there...Bozo might have suckered her into this case by furnishing passes...

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- One of Casey Anthony’s defense lawyers has backed out of the case, according to court documents filed on Friday.

Linda Baden filed a motion to withdraw in Orange County.

Baden was brought in to work on much of the forensic issues in the case.

She is the second high-profile attorney to leave the defense team in the last four months. No specific reason was given.

During the Indigency Hearing back on March 18, LKB said she had rescinded her retainer agreement.... she was now working pro bono.... and she had not been paid anything anyway.

Lawyer stepping down from Casey Anthony's defense team

Last Updated: Friday, October 22, 2010 6:31 PM

~ Snipped ~

The defense filed a motion in Orange County Court Friday, notifying the court that Linda Kenney-Baden will be withdrawing from the case.

Court documents said Kenney-Baden is stepping down not because of any issues with the case, but because because the work she's been brought on board to do is done.

"As out of state counsel I have been traveling to Florida and elsewhere to properly represent Ms. Anthony," she wrote in her motion.

She added, it is her "understanding that the JAC prohibits payment of such costs to out of state attorneys even though they have rendered and are rendering their services free of charge."

Kenney-Baden will remain as a consultant and appear periodically throughout the trial.

Casey Anthony attorney Linda Kenney Baden leaves defense team

By Anthony Colarossi, Orlando Sentinel
5:38 p.m. EDT, October 22, 2010

~ Snipped ~

The New York City based attorney cited financial reasons for her departure and state rules surrounding Casey Anthony being declared indigent for costs in the murder case.

She noted that the defense team must comply with Justice Administration Commission rules in this case.

"As out of state counsel I have been traveling to Florida and elsewhere to properly represent Ms. Anthony," she wrote in her motion. But, she added, it is her "understanding that the JAC prohibits payment of such costs to out of state attorneys even though they have rendered and are rendering their services free of charge."

Kenney Baden goes on to say she cannot continue representing Casey Anthony "in the absence of substantial funds to cover the costs of travel and reimbursement for expenses, which she anticipates will increase as trial approaches…"

Another selfless dedicated defense attorney fighting for troof and justice bites the dust because the media coverage and residual checks just ain't workin out like they thought it would. Tsk tsk.

Jose's next emergency motion will be to demand that The State cease and desist from prosecuting Casey Anthony for anything because she just can't afford any of the 'good lawyers' and she'll be stuck with just him.

Some days it sucks to be Jose.

Who is next? I'm predicting Mason.

I don't think any of these people really believe Casey is innocent. They milked this case for all the publicity they could get, and now it looks like they would rather be pro gono than pro bono.

Does LBK have any restrictions about writing a book about the Caylee Murder (and Caylee's murderous mother)? Does this now mean LBK can make blood money now? Soon? Ever?

Haha, J4A... Be pro gono rather than pro bono...... Laughing

I'm predicting, however, that if the judge does not grant Ann Finnell her requested travel expenses, that she will withdraw in short order. And that will leave, I believe, Cheney Mason as the only DP qualified attorney. And if that's the case.... JP isn't letting Mason go anywhere...

Here's the thing.... these attorneys that leave spouting lack of substantial expenses, etc., but always throw in the garbage about their support of the client... well, I look at it this way: If they TRULY believed in their client, if they TRULY believed she was innocent of the charges, why wouldn't they spend a little of their own money??? It's not like none of them can afford it....

Better yet, Baez can pay them out of the $90K he pocketed before they flittered away all the rest of the blood money.

LKB got out of this case what she intended to get..... exposure for her new book.

And I'd really like to know if Mason is having "fun" yet..... roflao

Lottie, that's a riot, isn't it??? What is it with these people that they can't hang onto an attorney?! The A's are currently on numbers 3 and 4. I will give them this.... they seemed to have accomplished what none of the others could do.... SHUT UP THE ANTHONYS! At least for the time being.....

What will Linda Kenney Baden’s departure mean?

posted by halboedeker on October, 23 2010 9:44 AM

Central Florida News 13 saw it as “a major shakeup for Casey Anthony’s legal team.”

It was Linda Kenney Baden’s resignation from the team. “This is the most significant departure we’ve seen thus far,” WFTV-Ch. 9 legal analyst Bill Sheaffer said.

Do you agree?

Sheaffer predicted that the other attorneys — including “very, very experienced and good” Cheney Mason — would have trouble making up for Kenney Baden’s forensic expertise.
