Attorney for Casey Anthony fined

The Associated Press

ORLANDO, Fla. -- An attorney for a Florida mother charged with killing her 2-year-old daughter has been fined for failing to turn over information about expert witnesses.

Circuit Judge Belvin Perry said in an order released Thursday that the $583.73 fine is the cost prosecutors spent in filing a motion about the matter.

Earlier this week, the judge found that defense attorney Jose Baez had committed a willful violation of his order by missing a deadline on turning over reports from the defense experts.

The judge ordered that the experts must provide written reports about what they will say at trial. Anything not in the reports or in depositions will not be allowed at the May trial.

Anthony has pleaded not guilty in the death of her daughter Caylee and said a baby sitter kidnapped her

This put a smile on my face, Very Happy
Too bad the taxpayer will end up picking up the tab for Baez's overreaching hubris.

Perry Won't Reconsider Defense Sanctions

Judge In Case Against Casey Says Defense Was Never Held In Contempt

UPDATED: 3:56 pm EST January 20, 2011

~Snipped~

Perry filed an order on Thursday, denying a defense request that he wipe clean a finding of contempt.

READ: Perry Won't Reconsider

Perry said Thursday he never in fact held the defense in civil contempt. Perry said at a December hearing that he would consider contempt in future instances if the defense failed to comply with court orders.

Another instance of Bozo not understanding legal terms?

What I found interesting was the comment Mason made that the state shouldn't cash the check, and that they should take into consideration Baez's inexperience in this type of case. If they are admitting Bozo is inexperienced, then he should step down and let someone with more experience be the lead atty.
