Husband, his parents held in kidnapping of woman

Mother of three forced into car, witnesses say

BY RANDY LUDLOW
THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

~Snipped~

The disappearance of the Hocking County woman took a stunning twist Thursday night when police descended on a rural Jackson County home.

Officers arrested Summer's husband, William A. Inman II, 26; his father, William A. Inman, 47; and his mother, Sandra K. Inman, 46, at a relative's home near the village of Ray. They were jailed and ordered held without bond.

A relative who asked not to be identified said Summer and William Inman II were in the midst of a messy divorce and a fight over custody of their three children, the oldest of whom is 5.

The couple married in 2004; a divorce has been pending in Vinton County Common Pleas Court in McArthur since June 16, records show.

Wow, the whole family was in on this. She didn't stand a chance. They didn't even think of the children. I'm glad they were all arrested so quickly. Now, what about these motherless babies........... Sad

(CNN) -- Authorities in Ohio say they may have found the body of Summer Inman, a 25-year-old mother who was reported abducted last week.
Police in the southeastern Ohio city of Logan have scheduled a Wednesday morning news conference where they are expected to release more information about the case.
"Tonight, the investigation into the kidnapping of Summer Inman has taken a sad turn, as investigators may have located Summer's body just off U.S. 33," the Logan Police Department said in a statement released Tuesday night.

This is just beyond words, what did they expect to gain from this? I hope a family member on the mother's side is able to take them in and give them a good, stable upbringing. Tragic..........

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

LOGAN, Ohio - Summer Inman's body was found in the septic system of a church near Nelsonville after her mother-in-law provided information last night where the body could be found, investigators said this morning.

Logan police descended on the Faith Tabernacle Church along Rt. 33 in Athens County at 8:50 p.m. yesterday after Sandra K. Inman spoke with her lawyer at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail in Nelsonville, police said.

Hocking County Prosecutor Laina Fetherolf confirmed that authorities made a plea deal with Sandra Inman in exchange for disclosure of where Summer Inman's body was located. Fetherolf declined to provide details at a Logan press conference.

New Details Emerge in Logan Mother's Abduction

March 31, 2011

~Snipped~

According to a Hocking County arrest warrant, Logan Police Chief Aaron Miller says a caller to police about 11 p.m. reported seeing two men force a woman into a four-door vehicle at 61 N. Market Street in Logan.

The caller said he got closer to the reported abduction -- "one foot from them" -- to get better idea of what was going on. He told police he saw one of the men taser the woman, Chief Miller said.

The caller said an "older woman" with bleached-blond hair was driving the four-door vehicle and yelled to the two men "someone is behind you!"

Chief Miller says one of the two men turned and used pepper spray on the caller. The man says he became fearful and then ran from area.

I can't believe people think they can actually get away with murdering someone!
Do they not think about the consequences?

Let's see...we're having marital problems so let's just do away with the mother of my children and no one will notice. Really?!?
Just get a divorce and deal with it!

I wish more people would take your advice and get a divorce pi-girl. They didn't want the children taken away from William, but then they all did something that would cause the children to be taken away from him and their mother forever. I hope none of those three ever see the light of day again.

Failure after failure left Summer Inman's family struggling

Summer Inman felt trapped and scared as her husband and his parents, now murder suspects, saw hopes falter.

Sunday, April 3, 2011 03:12 AM
By Randy Ludlow and and Mary Beth Lane
THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

Bill Inman considered himself a man of God.

Tiring of playing the piano and strumming his guitar at Faith Tabernacle Church near Nelsonville, where he had married his wife, Sandy, in 1983, he set out to shepherd his own flock.

He converted a garage at his rural Hocking County home into a church around 2004. It never attracted many of the faithful.

Bill then led his family - Sandy, their son, Will; their daughter-in-law, Summer; and the grandkids - to Florida for two years in search of construction work for himself and Will. But they lost their home in Arcadia to foreclosure.

He didn't want to pay child support. Summer followed all the right procedures it seems to get her divorce over with, she was terrified of these two men.

Then the grandma tells where Summer's body is, then has the nerve to do this:

Sandy, however, appeared to have been crying. As she shuffled into the courtroom, she locked eyes with Summer's family. She didn't speak, but mouthed the words clearly enough: "I'm so sorry."

I'm sure she got some kind of plea deal. This is just senseless and tragic.

Slain woman mourned in Hocking County

Monday, April 4, 2011 03:09 PM
By Mary Beth Lane
The Columbus Dispatch

LOGAN, Ohio -- Summer Dawn Cook Inman was remembered today for her "million dollar smile" and a personality that fit perfectly with her name.

Her parents, Michael and Debra Cook, her three young children and her boyfriend, Adam D. Peters, with whom she had found love, listened as she was eulogized at the funeral service at First Church Praise and Worship Center.

Summer attended the church from the time she was a girl. Church member John Chappelear, who led the congregation in hymns today, turned to her parents with his recollections. Her parents and other family members sat in the front pew, facing her flower-draped casket

"I will always remember her million-dollar smile," Chappelear said. "It's like a summer sunshine. Thank you for naming her Summer Dawn."
