Casey Anthony: ‘48 Hours Mystery’ looks at defense strategy

Defense attorneys Jose Baez and Cheney Mason discuss the Casey Anthony case in a “48 Hours Mystery” to air this coming Saturday on CBS.

The program, reported by Troy Roberts, also features defense forensic experts and former defense attorney Linda Kenney Baden. George and Cindy Anthony, Casey’ s parents, are interviewed as well.

This looks like a good episode to watch if you want to get your blood boiling. I wonder how much those people who stood up to acquit were told about the case.

It will be interesting to watch, keeping barf bag handy.

"I think he'll be noticeably and understandably upset," O'Mara said about the CBS program. "He wants to have a fair trial."

O'Mara said it is common for lawyers to use mock juries as a tool to test out their case before going to trial. But rarely are those exercises broadcast to a national TV audience.

O'Mara pointed out that the judge still has not decided whether certain evidence found in Casey Anthony's car will be allowed at trial, including a mysterious stain the the trunk and air samples that prosecutors said suggested the presense of a decomposing body.

At the above link, Andrea gives information on how to contact CBS to have the show postponed, at least, until after the jury is selected. I submitted my complaint under the "suggestion" category. It can't hurt to send in your feelings to CBS. Oprah Winfrey relented from having the Anthonys on her show folllowing a massive amount of complaints.

I sent a complaint to 48 Hours and CBS...If this program is aired on Saturday, April 16, I shall not be watching CBS affiliated programs nor purchasing products which advertise on CBS...Just one small voice for Caylee...I believe that an impartial jury is important in delivering the verdict of justice in this case and that Casey is entitled to a fair trial...

I only caught the last few minutes of this show but it was 'new' last night and it was about Casey's trial coming up. Did anyone else see this? Like the whole thing maybe?

The part I saw was where this jury adviser to the defense set up a mock jury from Orlando residents to see if they would convict Casey of 1st Degree Murder. It was almost unanimous that they would NOT.

Most opinions were that they believed it was an accident and Casey panicked.

The majority said that they would convict Casey of Involuntary Manslaughter.

Hmmmm.....

It was on last night in my area...I chose not to watch it...I'll just read the blogs to see if it was prejudicial...

LOL, I have my days mixed up! It was on last night, I did record it though in case I missed it. So I'll guess I can watch it later. Sorry for the confusion

They are lucky I won't be on the jury. I tend to think that when a POI lies about a death, they lie because it was murder, not because it was an accident or involuntary manslaughter.

J4a, is there a site where we can watch this show now?

I watched all of it last night. More of Bozo & Cheney & the A's sticking up for Casey and making it sound like the state had nothing against Casey.
