'America's Most Wanted' Canceled, but Host John Walsh 'Not Ready to Throw in the Towel'

You didn't have to watch "America's Most Wanted" to be grateful it's there. For 23 years it has resided on Fox, rallying its audience into a nationwide crime watch from which everyone benefited.

The viewership was not insignificant: 5 million viewers, on average, this season.

But other numbers were more impressive. Like the 1,151-and-counting worldwide captures it claimed, a public blessing for which the show, and the community it roused, could take proud credit.

No wonder if the public was shaken by the news on Monday that Fox has canceled "AMW."

Paul Michael Merhige is accused of opening fire in Sitton's Jupiter home on Thanksgiving night of 2009 killing four family members including Sitton's daughter, Makayla.

Bad idea, Fox. And they're putting what on in it's place?

Instead of "AMW," Fox will air weekly repeats of its prime-time entertainment series.

I wonder if another network will/can pick up AMW?

So, they're going to put an entertaiment series in that slot...
Big fat mistake, I'll support Jim Sitton in any way possible.

Lifetime picks up 'America's Most Wanted'

(EW.com) -- Lifetime will put John Walsh back to work: The network announced today that it has picked up "America's Most Wanted."

The show that began its run on the Fox owned and operated stations and then moved to the network will return for its 25th season later this year on Lifetime. (In May, Fox canceled the show as a weekly Saturday series because the show was no longer profitable but it will still air quarterly specials -- the first of which will bow in October.)

By the way, the first Fox quarterly special of AMW airs tonight at 8:00 PM.

I watched the show tonight, but they tried to put too much in to a one hour show. Did not like it as good as I did the original shows. Hope they go back to the old format on Lifetime.

I am so happy that AMW will continue to air.

I just read an article from KCTV - Kansas City, MO which states the Lisa Irwin case will be featured tonight.

Maybe both will be featured tonight.
