Geeze Louise...her ass is in a sling now....Uncle Sam wants his share...You don't mess with Uncle Sam....So if she ever gets out of jail she's facing Federal charges...Uncle Sam will get his piece of the action....Wonder what Bozo owes IRS...I doubt that he will be able to get her out of this fiasco...

since we all know KC did not work in 2008, is this the tax for the pictures they sold? Since she didn't get that money, Bozo did, shouldn't he have to pay the taxes himself?

Casey may have received the money and then paid Bozo. It is also possible that Casey never saw the money, but gave Bozo the right to sell the pictures in exchange for his services. I believe this would be considered barter income which is taxable and both would have to pay taxes on the money. Either way, I think the money earned through the pictures would be taxable to Casey, and the money earned by Bozo for his legal services would be taxable to him.

I see this three ways. One.....Casey correctly answers the $64,000 question and still owes money. Laughing Two.....she uses her "phone a friend". roflao Three....she buys a vowel, oops, Embarassed she can't afford one!! hehehe

Ok, I guess this just goes to show the government is going to get their share, and then their share, and then their share.

When I divorced my first husband, I told my lawyer, I wanted 50% of what we had, then I wanted 50% of what he had left, and then 50% of what he had left, etc.

Needless to say, I didn't get any of that. When my youngest child turned 18, he owed over $58,000 in back child support.

Laughing

I wonder if the IRS also found out that Casey had not paid her taxes when she was employed. $68,000 seems so high for $200,000

True....you mean when she worked all those extra years at Universal Studios, right? Her event coordinator job........
Yep, I think she owes more for that.

$68,000 is not too much on $250,000. After all, she has to pay her part and 'employer's' part, plus the FICA and state taxes.

When people win the lottery, they only get about half, because of the taxes.

That's true, plus there are probably penalties for not paying on time.

Casey better hope she gets at least 10 years so the statute of limitations will run out on her tax liability.

You have to wonder what is wrong with Baez that he didn't tell her to hold back some of her picture sale money for taxes. Did he know she'd never have to pay because she'd be in jail? Or did he not care so long as he got it all for his Dream Team and Greatest Lawyer Ever self?

I don't think he cared Lottie. Of course, there is the possibility he wasn't smart enough to realize she would owe taxes on the money.

I hope the reason the IRS caught on to it was because of people questioning the tax implications of the $250,000 on various blogs.

Lottie, J4A is right, he wasn't smart enough to realize this on his own. And nobody (such as JP or Cheney) held his hand and explained it to him.
