Texas Fresh Peach Cobbler

1 stick oleo or butter

1 cup flour

2 cups sugar

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla

4 cups of fresh peaches sliced

Cinnamon if desired

~~~~~~
Mix 1 cup sugar, milk, flour and banking powder together in a bowl. It will be some lumps. Add vanilla.
Mix 1 cup sugar with peaches and stir to coat. Let sit for 3 to 5 minutes. Melt butter in deep baking dish
9 x 13 (glass). Pour the sugar, flour and milk mixture over the melted butter. Add fruit. Do not stir.
Sprinkle cinammon (as much as you want) and a little sugar on top of fruit. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until crust rises and turns golden brown.
If using canned peaches: Use one large can and only 1 cup of sugar in the batter. Do not mix any sugar with the peaches.
~~~

Quick, easy to make and delicious!

LOL Laughing I would not even know how to post a pic. I have a digital camera but I gave the "thingy" for the computer (upload to computer?) that came with it to a friend since I did not have a computer at the time.

Julie, you'll just have to trust me! Try it . . . you'll like it!

Ann, I mix 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of milk in my blender. Melt butter in baking dish, pour in milk mixture then add my fruit on the top. If I use fresh fruit, I prepare them with sugar before hand also. I also use blue berries and strawberries.

In the winter time, I use canned peaches, canned blue berries and once I only had fruit cocktail and that makes a great cobbler too.

sitemama, I will have to try your recipe. I have several peach cobbler recipes but the one I posted seems to be the favorite around here for fresh peaches.

Last year we had a bumper crop of peaches. It seems I was making a peach cobbler several times a week to give to friends and of course I made some for us too.

I don't enjoy cooking. My sister loves to cook and she makes nearly every thing from scratch.

I'd rather be outside in my flower gardens than in the kitchen cooking!

Piper, it is too bad that we do not live closer! I'd be camped out on your door step several times a week so you could cook for me! Laughing We could even invite eva!

~~~~~
It is the truth . . . absolutely! lol
My friend has the same camera and I had no use for the "thingy" when I bought my camera and did not have a computer.
Sad Now I wished I had it so I could learn how to upload pics or whatever.
