ABC News Bans Licensing Fees

I hope stopping this checkbook journalism is a fact and they are going to stand by it. The monies they've paid out already is disgusting enough. They should already be boycotted for doling out Caylee's blood money to defend her murderer and to help support her grandparents.


ABC News bans licensing fees in wake of Casey Anthony rumors

In what can very well be described as a reaction to some rumors involving a Casey Anthony interview, ABC News has announced a new policy stating that they will no longer hand over heaps of money in return for licensing photos and video -- a way that they could get around saying that they "don't pay for interviews" while still shelling out cash to the subjects.

In a statement (per The Daily Beast), Jeffrey Schneider of the network had this to say about the reason for the decision:




"We can book just about anyone based on the strength of our journalism, the excellence of our anchors, correspondents, and producers, and the size of our audience. These licensing deals had become a crutch, and an unnecessary one."

ABC News should match what they've already paid out to the Anthony's and Felon Casey Anthony's attorney to the National Center for Missing/Exploited Children's fund or a similar, legitimate fund. Makes me sick to my stomach.

Piper, I hope they stick to their guns and maybe other networks will follow suit.

Me too mama....KC, Baez, anyone else from her family or defense team should have to face the cold reality that nobody wants to hand over a dime to any of them...I just hope that becomes the cold reality.

Also no juror should be given a dime!

What I would read though is a book by Mister Ashton or any of the prosecution if they are allowed, or LE if they are allowed -laying out what all they had on KC and their decisions used in making their case...why some things were not used (such as KioMarie saying KC buried her pets in that woods).

Makes you wonder, huh kh? Were the deals already made before they released this statement. I have refused to click on Anthony news reports unless it's in regards to the memory of Caylee or the outing of the scum........

ABC is about 3 years too late on this!
