Next Food Network Star
Does anyone else here watch Next Food Network Star? I was really hoping that Susie would win. Jeff and his sandwiches is of no interest to me. I don't want to make a meal into a sandwich, nor do I want to make a sandwich into a meal. So I have no need to watch his new show.
Susie was by far MUCH more skilled and I would have watched her new show if she would have won. Susie could have made a wonderful meal out of anything, and she did each time they tested her. She made very classy dishes for the selection committee. She received such rave reviews and remarks, especially in the last few weeks.
I couldn't believe when Jeff made three different lobster sandwiches, using
jarred mayo. Sure, at home I would have used jarred mayo too, but they were out to impress the judges. Even the judges commented on his jarred mayo. Susie made three very gourmet, delectable sounding lobster dishes. I believe Susie has the greater skill and talent for cooking.
Even their personalities, Susie was like watching a ray of sunshine, Jeff was like watching someone without a personality trying hard to convince you that he has a personality.
My heart broke for Susie when they announced Jeff as the winner.
What were those judges thinking?
btw, can't stand watching Giada's show.

Well . . . I don't watch cooking shows but after reading your comment I wish Susie would have won!

I noticed you did not mention eva in your comment. Did eva compete with some of her yummy gourmet recipes?
Now be honest Jules! You know eva will read this.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear this! Poor eva. . .
All of those years eva spent going to Chef School and she did not make it into the competition. I wonder why.
I bet the show was "rigged".

I'm digging up an old post. I hope that's ok.
Susie should have won! Though I must admit that I am pleasantly surprised that the Sandwich King show is better than I thought it would be.
Are you watching the new season? What do you think of the new format?

Yeah, I caught it last weekend. He was making sandwiches for date night with his wife. At least they were made with Filet Mignon... i think. I was cleaning and not paying a whole lot of attention.
It just started this past Sunday. I'm sure they'll replay it several times this week.

I'm so glad I only missed 1 episode, and you're probably right, they will replay it over and over this week.
