Dr. Phil McGraw opened his current season with a ballyhooed — and high-rated — interview with George and Cindy Anthony, parents of Casey Anthony.

McGraw returns to the Anthony case in an interview with former prosecutor Jeff Ashton, who is promoting his book, “Imperfect Justice,” about the case. The “Dr. Phil” chat will air at 3 p.m. Wednesday on WOFL-Channel 35.

This is a great two page article! I can hardly wait to read Jeff Ashton's book.

He dislikes Bozo, oops Baez. He thinks Baez is smarmy: somebody who is slick, underhanded and doesn't shoot straight.”

Also, has an unfavorable view of the jurors!

This article is a "must read!"

Retired Fla prosecutor takes jab at jurors, defense attorneys in Casey Anthony’s murder case

By Associated Press, Published: November 14
Washington Post - Washington, DC

ORLANDO, Fla. — A retired prosecutor from the Casey Anthony murder trial calls her lead attorney “smarmy” in a new book and writes that even though the Florida mother acquitted of killing her 2-year-old daughter “may have deserved” the death penalty if convicted, he didn’t think a jury would ever agree to the punishment.

Jeff Ashton writes in Tuesday’s “Imperfect Justice: Prosecuting Casey Anthony,” that he would have been happier if the prosecution team left the death penalty off the table. He also confirmed that toward the end of the trial, Anthony’s attorneys tried to persuade the 25-year-old to accept a plea deal but she refused to listen.

“Personally, I think I would have been happier if the death penalty had not been reintroduced into the case, even though I think on some level I think Casey may have deserved it,” Ashton said in the 324-page book. “Simply put, I just didn’t think the jury would go there.”

Ashton says in his new book that he can't stand Jose Baez and that he has never seen a bigger liar than Casey Anthony. I think we all knew that already!

$ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $

I think it is so wrong for any one to profit off of a victim. In this case, Caylee Anthony, was the victim. In many ways, it seems like Caylee "got lost" in all of the media hoopla long before Casey Anthony ever went to trial.

I knew that someone would make a movie or write a book.

I guess I would rather Jeff Ashton be the one to profit in a huge way with his book and rights to his book being the basis for a movie than Casey Anthony/Jose Baez or Cindy and George Anthony.

At least we know that it won't be based on lies!

Cheney Mason has stated he is writing a book also. No mention of when it will be released.

Cindy Anthony was writing a book. I wonder what happened to her deal. I would not bother to waste my time to read her book of mistruths as she calls lies!

Poor Caylee! ~ ~ ~ Rest in peace, Caylee! ~ ~ ~

Soon before her murder trial began, Casey Anthony told two mental health experts that not only had her daughter Caylee drowned in the family pool, but that her father deliberately killed the child, retired prosecutor Jeff Ashton writes in his new book released today.

Anthony also told the doctors she had been sexually abused by her father George and was worried about him molesting Caylee. The attorney representing George Anthony denied the newly surfaced claims today.

Kelli went to Barnes & Noble in Hickory to buy this book for us. They only had 2 left when she bought ours. The clerk said they only received 24 in their first shipment. She paid a little over $23.00 for it. She asked if they had it in paperback, and the clerk laughed at her and said "not yet".
