Easy Smooth and Creamy Frosting

Easy Smooth and Creamy Frosting

~frosts one sheet cake or one 9" double layer cake

1 pkg. Instant Pudding and Pie Filling-4 serving size, any flavor
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 cup cold milk
1-8oz. Cool Whip, optional

Combine pudding, sugar and milk in a mixing bowl; beat on low speed until well blended. Fold in Cool Whip, if using.

I've never made frosting with the instant pudding. Great idea. I imagine the cool whip gives you a "fluffy" frosting. I powdered sugar!! I wanted a bite of something sweet last night so I took a big spoon of peanut butter and dipped it in powdered sugar, LOL.

Having worked in a bakery using pudding for cake fillings and pies is commonplace. But this was a first for me to see it used as a frosting. I got it from an online recipe club, but i can't remember which one.
