"Jose Baez has been retained by the family of 50 year old Gary Giordano, the principal suspect in the disappearance of 35 year old Maryland native, Robyn Gardner, who went missing in Aruba.

Baez and an investigator are in the Caribbean Island right now interviewing witnesses and probing relevant locations. Giordano is being held without bail by Aruban authorities, as they attempt to find evidence sufficient to charge him with Gardner's death."

I saw a young woman and her mother on HLN a few weeks ago. If I remember correctly, she was offered a modeling job by Giordano , but luckily the mother manages the daughter's career and was suspicious from the start. He even offered the mother a modeling job without seeing a photo of her, which needless to say made her even more dubious about the job offer.

What's that old saying "there's honor among theives" ? there definately is no dignity...like beget like and also water seeks it's own level...sooo how much lower can one go?
Just makes me want to puke!! I guess Baez does have a future in the defense industry...Wonder how many times he will face the bar this time?

Casey Anthony's lawyer joins defense in Aruba case

ORANJESTAD, Aruba (AP) – The lawyer who gained fame in the Casey Anthony murder trial in Florida said Tuesday that he will now help a U.S. businessman jailed in Aruba in the presumed death of his travel companion.

Casey Anthony's defense lawyer, Jose Baez has agreed to represent Gary Giordano in Aruba.

Jose Baez said he has been retained to defend Gary Giordano in the Dutch Caribbean island. Baez confirmed his hiring in a text message to The Associated Press but declined to provide details about his role in the Aruba case.

Giordano's Aruban lawyer, Michael Lopez, said Giordano's father, Frank, hired Baez, who was the lead defense attorney for Anthony in her trial on charges of killing her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee. Anthony was acquitted of killing Caylee in July, but convicted of four charges of lying to police.

In Aruba, Baez can serve in an advisory role and provide other assistance but he cannot argue in court, Lopez said. "If my client wants me to share all information with Baez, I will do so, even though his role will be that of a consultant," he said.

Giordano has been jailed for nearly a month because authorities suspect he was involved in the presumed death of 35-year-old Robyn Gardner of Frederick, Maryland. He has denied committing any crime and says the Maryland woman was swept out to sea while snorkeling. Her body has not been found.

Giordano, who is from Gaithersburg, Maryland, and owns a temporary staffing business, was arrested as he tried to leave the island on Aug. 5. Prosecutors have said they initially detained him because he gave inconsistent statements about Gardner's disappearance.

The prosecution has disclosed little of the evidence against Giordano but has said he was the beneficiary of a $1.5 million accidental death insurance policy he took out on her before their trip.

I just can't imagine anyone hiring him as a consultant, that is unless he is consulting on what not to do...

If he can get one more murderer exonerated, his future will be so bright he'll have to wear shades.

Bozo will tell them how to blame her death on accidental drowning, and her father disposed of the body, nearby.

Did you all hear that Baez has gone to Aruba? He was hired by the guy in jail down there. But Aruban authorities are saying he has no Law License in Aruba so he can only see his client during normal visiting hours.

What a reputation Baez has.

Lottie, Bozo was hired by the family of Giordano, who is accused of killing Robin Gardner in Aruba. He cannot argue in the court, with no license, but he is only hired as a consultant to help his atty get this scumbag acquitted like he did KC.

I'm sure he is getting paid the big bucks for this case.

Giordono would be an excellent candidate as the next felon casey anthony's sugar daddy. Maybe Jose can hook them up?

Just saw Bozo on Good Morning America...of course he said "absolutely, Giordano is innocent"..."there is no evidence"..."it's all smoke and no fire"...He is opposed to the recreation of what happened that fateful day...Just heard Giordano may not be prosecuted in Aruba.... Maryland is seeking charges and he (Giordano) may be charged here in the good ole USA...

I'm assuming that Bozo thinks that it's absolutely innocent to take out a $1.5 million dollar insurance policy on someone else's girlfriend just before taking her out of the country? Then, as it has been reported, GG immediately tried to collect on the policy. (Just two days after reporting her "missing". Hmmm, wonder why he would try to collect if he didn't know she was dead...)

It wouldn't be the first time they didn't prosecute somebody in Aruba, and Baez is probably banking on getting another brain dead jury if the case is prosecuted here in the U.S.
