I am so praying another little sweetheart hasn't been taken from this earth. How does a three years old just vanish from her home in the morning. I know there is cases like Jessica Lunsford (even the name matches) where it was proven she was taken from her home. I can only pray they find her but it sure sounds suspicious!

I sure hope they find Aliayah soon. In the video, the area looks heavily wooded with dense underbrush.
The dog leading the searchers to the river bank has me concerned.
I wish there were more details. I wonder how long it was before she was reported missing after she was noticed missing.
I hope this is not a Shaniya Davis situation where the mom reported her missing long after she was given to the pervert!
What I mean is something could have happened to the child hours earlier or days earlier and was reported missing after a story is fabricated.
This may be another Joshua Davis case (New Braunfels, TX). He just vanished from inside the home with about 7 or 8 people inside! He is still missing.

Isn't it kind of unusual that a 3 year old is already missing four front teeth? I know all kids are different, but my kids lost their first tooth at 5 1/2 & almost 6 years old. Then the next three teeth came later. Just something that caught my eye.

I agree with you Julie - I thought that was rather weird.
She also looks really sad in the picture.

5 NEWS UPDATE: Authorities Searching for Missing 3-Year-Old Girl
Last Updated on Monday, 26 September 2011 08:32

WDTV - Bridgeport, WV
As dive teams from multiple counties slowly search the water near her home, Aliyah Lunsford's family is still waiting for word of the missing three-year-old, and are now reaching out to the community for help.
"Around 9 or 9:30, I went back in to wake her up and she was gone," said Lena Lunsford, Aliayah's mother.
Three-year-old Aliayah Lunsford went missing from her Bendale home Saturday morning, and ever since, search teams have turned her typically quiet neighborhood upside down in hopes of bringing her home.
"We've done a foot canvas of the neghborhood, used k-9s, now we have divers in the water. We've entered her in as missing," said Sgt. Michael Posey of the Lewis County Sheriff's Department.
Family members say Aliayah is a shy child. They say she never talks to strangers and would never have wandered off alone.

Re: Aliayah Lunsford, Age 3, Weston, WV - Missing 9/24/11
After viewing the above video and reading what little has been disclosed in this case, my hinky meter continues to go up in this case.
It is being reported that Aliayah was last seen at 6:30 but was not reported missing until about 11:30 a.m.
Five hours is a long time considering Aliayah is only 3 years old.
I would think after a frantic search of the home and just outside the home, the mother would have called 911 stat!

Aliayah looks very sad in the picture that the family provided to LE and media.
It appears she has a bruise above her left eyebrow. It is also very disturbing that this 3 year old child would have tooth loss at such an early age.
I look forward to more information on this case.

WESTON, W.Va. — Authorities continued to search Monday for a 3-year-old girl who went missing from her Lewis County home over the weekend.
Police say Aliayah Lunsford's family reported her missing from her Bendale home just 150 yards from the West Fork River on Saturday morning. Her mother, Lena Lunsford, told WDTV-TV (http://bit.ly/nqbycw) that she went to wake the child at 9:30 a.m., and she was gone.
Lena Lunsford's last contact with her daughter had been about three hours earlier, said State Police Sgt. C.M. Alton. Other siblings were in the home at the time, and authorities said the family is cooperating with investigators.
