From KCMO Police: "The AMBER Alert system is designed to raise awareness early in an investigation to alert the public in an attempt to recover a juvenile in danger. Although the investigation and search for Lisa Irwin continues, an active AMBER Alert is no longer necessary in this case. Lisa Irwin is still considered a Missing/Endangered Juvenile.

Officers and detectives will continue to work throughout the night in an attempt to find Lisa Irwin. This is an on-going investigation and will continue to be actively investigated until Lisa Irwin is found.

We urge anyone with information to call 911 or contact the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477."

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Kansas City Police Department is investigating the suspicious death of a woman whose body was found in the Northland.

Shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday, police were called to North Eastern Avenue and Northeast 120th Street.

Kansas City police search for missing 10-month-old

(AP) KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Dozens of law enforcement officers searched into the night Tuesday for a 10-month-old Kansas City girl whose disappearance from the crib in her home sparked fears of an induction by an intruder.

Lisa Irwin's mother reported last seeing the baby when she put her into her crib around 10:30 p.m. Monday. The father called police around 4 a.m. Tuesday when he returned home from his job at an electrical company and couldn't find the baby.

More than 100 officers scoured deep woods behind the home in the northern part of Kansas City on Tuesday afternoon before ending the search there. Officers are investigating whether Lisa was taken by an intruder who climbed through a window.

Lisa Parscale says her husband was coming home around 12 a.m. Tuesday when he saw the man carrying a baby wearing only a diaper.

If only he had called 911.

Mahoney also pointed out that the location of the home is not a place where you can get to by accident. The street is on a windy complex of roads, and he reported that you really have to know where you're going to get to the house.

I wonder if it is someone the parents know or that they may have met when the person (abductor) was going door to door. Somehow, the abductor knew the parents or that there was a baby living at this address.

Sherry, I read somewhere earlier that the parents may have recently had a yard sale.

Oh...That's a relief...I only watched the news video...It's still a mystery, to me, as to how these childern get taken in the middle of the night...Seems like it happens a lot more than we think...

Seems to me that somebody went to a lot of trouble to nab that little baby. Wonder how they knew which window led to the baby's room, if her room door was kept open, if there was a baby monitor or alarms. And, how would one climb back out of that window while holding a ten-month old who might cry out any second.
I hope that this beautiful little baby is found safe.

St. Joseph Police: Checking tip of a possible baby matching Lisa's description at a Love's truck stop. Surveillance video has been sent to KCMO police to have them check it out.
