Continuous updates on the search for Lisa Irwin

In a brief but emotional statement, the parents of 10-month-old Lisa Irwin pleaded for her safe return on Wednesday.

Jeremy Irwin and Deborah Bradley read from a prepared statement and took no questions from the media.

"On Monday night or Tuesday morning, our daughter, Lisa, was taken from our home. We urge anyone with information as to where she is or who she's with or anything to please call the TIPS Hotline or police," Irwin said. "Anything, even the smallest bit of information, could help lead to her return. Anybody who might have her, they can drop her off at any place safe -- a fire station or hospital or church. No questions asked. We just want to have her back."

"We just want our baby back. Please, bring her home," said a tearful Deborah Bradley. "Our two other boys are waiting for her, please, just drop her off anywhere. We don't care, just somewhere safe, where she can come home, please."

St. Joseph News-Press

POSTED: 5:14 pm CDT October 5, 2011

St. Joseph police have been notified of a couple traveling with a baby who looked similar to missing 10-month-old Lisa Irwin.
Officials said an infant matching her description was seen Wednesday with a middle-aged white male and white female in an older model SUV at the Love’s Travel Stop at the intersection of Interstate 29 and U.S. Highway 169. Their direction of travel was not known.
Cmdr. Jim Connors, head of the St. Joseph Police Department’s detective division, said officials have contacted Kansas City Police, who have requested a copy of the store’s surveillance video.

Julie, you've done a lot of work on this thread. Thanks for all of the updates.

I hope they find baby Lisa soon. Very strange case. Just vanished in the night. I wonder if the couple mentioned in the above article could have Lisa.

Thanks Ann. I hope they find her too.

There hasn't been any updates so far on the couple at the Travel Stop.

This is the last entry so far at the below link, which is WONDERFUL with updates.

St. Joseph Police: Checking tip of a possible baby matching Lisa's description at a Love's truck stop. Surveillance video has been sent to KCMO police to have them check it out.

Parents of missing baby 'scraping for anything'

Updated: Oct 06, 2011 5:48 PM EDT
By BILL DRAPER and MARIA SUDEKUM FISHER
Associated Press

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - The parents of a missing 10-month-old Missouri girl have given police more than a dozen names as they try to think of potential suspects or people who paid especially close attention to the child, a relative said Thursday.

Investigators have no suspects and few solid leads despite an intensive search for Lisa Irwin, whose parents say was snatched from her crib sometime Monday night or early Tuesday. The search was expanded Thursday to a heavily wooded area, an industrial park and sewers.

"We're scraping for anything, anyone who was at the house, who looked at her strange. Anything," said Mike Lerette, a cousin of the baby's mother.

Her parents are trying to remember people who recently came into contact with Lisa or paid her extra attention, Lerette said.

The parents of 10-month-old Lisa Irwin, missing since Monday, have stopped cooperating with authorities, according to police.

"The mother and father no longer want to talk to detectives," Kansas City, Mo., police Capt. Steve Young said. "From an investigative standpoint, we enjoyed their cooperation so far. [It] has been very beneficial to the case. But yeah, you can imagine it doesn't help the case" that the cooperation has ended.

Because about 99% of the time in these cases, a parent or relative is involved.
