NASA: Mars Rover To Launch in Two Weeks
NASA's Mars Science Laboratory along with the latest Mars Rover 'Curiosity' on board, is ready to kickstart its mission to the Red Planet in two weeks, NASA officials said at a briefing in Washington D.C. on Thursday (November 10).
Curiosity is headed towards the Gale crater on Mars, where it will assess whether environmental conditions on the planet were ever favorable for the development of microbial life.
NASA scientists said the mission was not designed to look for signs of life and the $2.5 billion rover will not be carrying life-detecting equipment on board.
