A shopping centre Santa Claus has become stuck attempting to abseil down a rope in front of dozens of children in Florida.

A shopper filmed the moment Santa's beard got caught on the rope as he attempted to lower himself several floors to the awaiting kids, WPTV reported.

After getting stuck midway down the rope, Santa struggled to free himself, eventually ripping off his beard and hat as an announcer desperately tried to distract the kids.

I think it was a fake, dangling Santa. He didn't even have black Santa boots on.

Santa should have hired a stunt man to repel down the rope!
