Also, the cell phone was found elsewhere. They think the abductor tossed it after she was dead, not while he had her with him. That is why the ping narrowed it down. But, the brother didn't just find her the first time he went out looking. He has been searching since August 2009. He has been consistently trying to find her, so this isn't him just suddenly finding her. It is him finally finding her. Anywhere they said she might be, he searched.

The TV show "Disappeared" did a story on her. It gave a lot of info.

The boyfriend was thoroughly investigated and cleared. The brother, by all accounts, had a good a relationship with his sister and has searched endlessly for her. I'm sure the whole family was scrutinized by LE early on; common practice.

The brother was the one pushing hardest on the police for new searches and fielding any new leads as soon as they came in. Imo, he is above suspicion and is, in fact, the kind of family member anyone would love to have. Marc Klaas said that it was not suspicious at all for the brother to have found her when a caller on Nancy Grace voiced her concern that it was fishy for Kristi to be discovered by her brother. Klaas said that the brother was in essence acting like a one-man volunteer version of Klaas kids and Texas Equisearch. I agree with Klaas's assessment from following this case closely since Kristi's disappearance. I think the fact that it's normal to question it as "fishy" when a missing person is found by someone close to them is one of the reasons LE advises family members not to get involved in the searches in some cases (most families ignore the advice; others take the advice and are then usually called out for it in the media).

Based on the circumstantial evidence released to date, the perv that killed himself is most likely the murderer and it was his cell phone ping that targeted the new search area. I hope her remains reveal some evidence that lead LE to him or the real perp, but I'm sure decomp is pretty bad after all of this time. RIP Krisiti....

They had just started dating and were getting to know each other. It was a new relationship, so he had not gotten too invested in it when she disappeared. That is probably why we don't hear a lot about him.

Her mother said it was a habit of hers to walk after dinner because it helped her back pain. It was something she did for years. It helped her unwind. Not a jog, but a walk out in the fresh air.

The guy they think did this had done the same thing with other women. He had bumped them with the car to knock them down, then took them, or at least, attempted to take them.

The website her family created seems to be messed up. I think it has been hit too often lately. But, it had all this info on it.

Thanks Matt.....yeah, it sounds like the guy who killed himself probably did do this. Well, I'm done with this case......a sad ending with not even a chance for justice. Sad

It is disappointing that the most likely perp took the coward's way out and killed himself without a confession. Sad. At least the family now has Kristi's remains and some resolution. And, if he was the murderer, he won't be able to hurt anyone else.
