NASCAR anyone???

Any of you here a NASCAR fan?? that's my sport of choice...

Hi Tish....I am not an avid racing fan, but I go with my brother and it's great fun, actually. My 10yr old nephew is named Gordon, if that tells you anything!

that's funny.... I'm surprised my husband didnt' try to name our little girl biffle or something like that... seriously, our room is decorated with his flags, and we have shelves of die cast cars, and not just the big ones either. My husband races RC cars, and not the small ones. the 1/4 scale cars are upwards of $1000, we have 3 of them.. not to mention a couple EDM's - he's got it bad.... but I like the biff too... I like racing in general... I would place Nascar above baseball as the all-American sport, but that's JMO

OMG, I am a BIG Nascar fan. I have always loved DE, and will till the day I die. LOL When he died, I cried every day for about 3 months. One of my daughters asked her doctor why I was crying, when I didn't cry when my oldest daughter was murdered, and my dad died. But I cried for DE. He said because I had to be strong for the rest of my kids when Kim was killed, and I had to be strong for my mom when my Dad died, but I could let all the tears flow, for both of them, when DE died. DE died 2/18/01 and my second daughter, Karen died 2/8/02. She left 5 y/o twins behind. We took the twins to DE Day the following April and Dylan got to talk to Dale Jr. He told Jr not to worry about his Dad, because his mom was there to look after him.

We have scrap books on DE that go back to his first days of racing. We have attended every DE Day since before he died, until Teresa and Jr had their falling out. We have not been back since, but we go to JR Motorsports open house every year now. As you may know, he is now my driver, even though he is not doing very well, I am still a loyal fan. I like Tony Stewart also, as I feel he is another DE, has the same driving skills and acts a lot like him.

Yes, I agree with you Tish, I care nothing about baseball, except we do go see the Intimidators play, since they are named after DE.

I like your story about DE. I wasn't involved in Nascar then, but I worked with a lady that was an AVID DE fan. I clearly remember the day after he passed away, I was a manager for jc penney, and she called in - ended up taking off that whole week, she could not work - they ended up going to a memorial for him, and the next week when she came back, she was still so distraught and would just break down crying during the day for quite a while. I remember that deeply touched me, and that was really my first encounter with anything to do with nascar... then I met my hubby... and I still didn't like it until I stepped foot into the Texas Motor Speedway for my first race. There is nothing like seeing the track for the first time - what a rush!!! and then when they fire up the cars - it's just amazing. but my favorite part has got to be the Star Spangled Banner and the fly over. It is so quiet you could hear a pin drop. The fans are so respectful of our troops, and it is so moving... Nascar fans are AMERICANS thru and thru!!! We may all be rooting for a different driver, but we are like family...

I live near a racetrack...........I like it fine I suppose, but I really love dirt track. bathroom is not so far away.

I like dirt track too - in fact, any kind of racing suits me...
